Until 1889, the wild setting of Cap Martin was used as the Hunting Domain of the Monegasque Princes. The area changed following the construction of the Grand Hotel du Cap Martin on the most southern coastline which drew celebrity and aristocracy attention alike, with the progressive creation of some of the most prestigious French Riviera Estates to match demand. The domain and associated hotel drew the rich and famous who met and resided here over the milder Riviera winters initially, but the area draws residents throughout the year due to the extensive facilities, privacy and excellent connections. This unique gated domain has become one of the French Riviera’s most exclusive locations to own property, just a few mile away from the Principality of Monaco.
L’Eclaircie is one of these very rare estates, benefitting from a waterfront setting in the most sought-after part of the TodayDomain.an obelisk stands within Roquebrune Cap Martin of The Empress Elisabeth of Austria, (also known as Sisithe Imperatrice) which represents her great attachment to the area and her role in attracting much attention and wealth to the setting.
