APRIL 2017

COMMUNICATOR Marines, we are faced with an insurgency. Not one that requires deployments and weapons, but an insurgency within our own ranks. We have elements in our Corps who think it’s acceptable to pass their own judgment on another Marine’s fitness, competence, physical appearance or personality, and then tear down that Marine by rumor mongering and cyber bullying. This needs to stop. Now. Marines take care of each other. We stand as the example to society of doing the right thing and choosing service over self. Denigrating and demeaning others while hiding behind online profiles or making vile comments behind their backs is not the mark of a Marine. It’s the mark of a coward, and I have no use for cowards. A real Marine shows COURAGE by standing up to harassment and by showing COMMITMENT to others. It goes back to this: take care of yourselves, and take care of each other. It’s a matter of HONOR. Semper Fidelis.
