Although the great financial crisis hit, MarineMax weathered the storm and emerged stronger.
Fun Fact: According to an article on boattrader.com, a study from Foresight Research showed online content influenced 84% of new boat buyers to make a purchase.
Panhandle Expansion and
Charter Vacations
• MarineMax acquires Treasure Island Marina in Panama City, FL, in March.
• In October, MarineMax Vacations and charters in the British Virgin Islands were introduced.
2013
MarineMax expands in Connecticut
MarineMax expands its brand portfolio with Ocean Alexander yachts.
Recognition in the British Virgin Islands
In October, MarineMax was named the “Best BVI Yacht Charter Company.”

Hall Marine is Acquired, and a New Leader is Appointed
• MarineMax completes the acquisition of Hall Marine Group in North & South Carolina. In October, MarineMax promoted Brett McGill to Chief Executive Officer and President.
Galeon and More Acquisitions
• In January, MarineMax became the exclusive dealer for Galeon Yachts in the Americas.
• In February, MarineMax acquired Bahia Mar Marina in Pensacola, Florida.
• MarineMax acquired Russo Marine in April.
An Island of a Purchase & 20 Years
• In January, MarineMax purchased Island Marine Center in New Jersey.
• MarineMax celebrates its 20th anniversary.
Fun Fact: According to the NMMA’s 2018 U.S. Recreational Boating Statistical Abstract, the estimated amount of registered and unregistered boats in use in 2018 was 15.8 million.
2019 2021
Full Steam Ahead
• Cruising into 2021, MarineMax became the world’s largest boat and yacht retailer.
• Cruisers Yachts, an iconic American-made luxury boat brand, joined the family in May.
• Intrepid Powerboats also became part of MarineMax in November.
Waters of Diversification
• In April, MarineMax acquired Sail & Ski Center locations in Texas.
MarineMax enters the superyacht service business with Fraser Yachts in July.
More Locations and Manufacturing
• Nisswa Marine joins the family in July.
• In November, Texas MasterCraft became MarineMax Texas MasterCraft.
2020
Beyond the Dock During the Pandemic
• In March, MarineMax increased its technological footprint with Boatyard.
• Insurance services became part of the portfolio with Private Insurance Services, Inc. in July.
• The acquisition of Northrop & Johnson became official in July.
• SkipperBud’s and its affiliate Silver Seas Yachts joined MarineMax in October.
Fun Fact: When the COVID-19 pandemic unfolded, MarineMax’s revenue soared to $1.51 billion.
Technology & Present Times
• To enhance its technology services, in January, MarineMax acquired Boatzon.
• MarineMax acquired C&C Boat Works in Crosslake, Minnesota, in June.

• In April, MarineMax closed a deal with Superyacht Management Services.
• MarineMax acquired Island Global Yachting LLC (“IGY Marinas”) in October.
• In December, MarineMax acquired Midcoast Marine Group, LLC.
