SAMPLE ITINERARY – BVI
DAY 2
Begin your journey to “North Sound” Virgin Gorda. On your way, grab a mooring ball and head ashore to discover The Baths. One of the main attractions of the islands—the famed rock formations at The Baths’ enormous granite boulders. Hike the trail through the boulders to the Top of The Baths Restaurant for some lunch and a dip in the pool. After lunch, head to North Sound on Virgin Gorda, head to Leverick Bay and grab a mooring ball or stay in their marina facility. Conveniently, there is a store located in the area to grab provisions or ice, if needed. Use your dinghy to cruise the bay to look for many beautiful, deserted beaches, or snorkel the Eustatia Reef. Visit the local restaurants such as Hog Heaven Bar in Virgin Gorda or Fat Virgin’s Cafe on Spanish Town. Or travel to the iconic Bitter End Yacht Club, stunning Saba Rock restaurant or Oil Nut Bay resort. Each offering unique and special entertainment and experiences.
DAY 1
After completing your charter instruction, depart on your journey to your first destination. Cruise through the crystal-clear waters of the Sir Francis Drake Channel towards The Bight on Norman Island, rumored to be the site of Robert Louis Stevenson’s famous novel, “Treasure Island.” Grab a park buoy at the Indians along the way to swim or snorkel before entering The Bight to pick up your overnight mooring. After tying up the boat, jump on your dinghy and head to The Caves to enjoy the wonders of the coral reef and its colorful inhabitants. End the night with dinner at Pirate’s Bight Restaurant & Bar ashore, serving great food and offering the utmost in casual dining.
DAY 3
For half a century, Bitter End Yacht Club has been world-renowned for its sense of adventure, love of water, appreciation for nature and dedication to friends and family. This destination is a nautical village with much to see and explore. Grab an exceptional drink or a delectable meal at one of their many dining venues. Once you’ve filled your appetite, master one of the many water sports that Bitter End Yacht Club is known for. Sailing, diving, kite boarding, windsurfing and more. BEYC has it all.
DAY 4
Another day in paradise, and another day with endless options. Pick up a mooring ball in Great Harbor, then enjoy and explore Foxy’s. Take your tender or taxi over to the famous Soggy Dollar Bar for a “Painkiller” the famous, local cocktail with specialty rum, coconut and orange juice with a splash of nutmeg, as well as local food choices. Enjoy the Caribbean post card perfect views of White Bay. Toast the sunset at Coco Locos Beach & Sports Bar and make your way by dinghy back to Great Harbor for the night.
DAY 6
Make your way around Soper’s Hole on West End and head to Cooper Island; this vacation isn’t over yet! Upon arrival, take a dip in the clear blue water and the scenery of this quaint, exclusive, little resort. Complete with homemade ice cream, an amazing rum collection and tasting room, as well as beach front chairs, and delicious restaurant. Settle in for a relaxing day ashore or on-board your yacht. Be sure to make time for more snorkeling off Cistern Point, just a short dinghy ride from your vessel. Referred to as swimming in an aquarium, the sea life here will keep you busy spotting new creatures darting in and out of the rock formations.
DAY 5
It’s time to explore more. Cane Garden Bay is the center of activity in the BVI. You can spend the day at this northwestern beach swimming with the turtles and the fish, snorkeling around the western edge. Or go ashore and tour the Callwood Distillery making natural local rum for over 300 years. Happy hour and live music are aplenty in the area, so be sure to wear your dancing shoes, or follow the tradition of the BVIs with no shoes at all. Enjoy dinner at one of the lively local bars like Quito’s Gazebo or Myett’s. When you’ve danced and you can’t dance anymore, grab your dinghy and head back to your home away from home peacefully awaiting your return to the vessel.
DAY 7
Return to Nanny Cay: Take your last morning dive and make your way back to the MarineMax Vacations Nanny Cay base. Our team will come to your vessel at the entrance to the marina and escort you in to complete your boat debrief. Once completed, you can enjoy lunch at the resort and relax on the beach or by the pool until your pre-arranged transport arrives to carry you to the ferry dock or airport. Our MarineMax Vacations team, won’t be saying our good-byes, but rather a, “see you later.” You’ll head home with a week’s worth of memories and an experience you’ll never forget.
