Danish Yachtss has specialized in the design and construction of fast, reliable and high performance patrol vessels with multiple naval and maritime applications. With a length of 38 meters and a carbonfiber-epoxy sandwich construction, this patrol vessel is a multi-purpose vessel. The patrol vessel efficiently carries and transports small teams or troop units and can successfully be put into operation by both the navy, coastguard and police force. With a maximum speed of 45-50 knots the vessel offers fast and efficient response in a variety conflicts and situations and operates as an easily maneuverable back-up for larger vessels.

The patrol vessels are intended for both sea and river environments and can as such be operated in both salt and fresh water. They are fully operational in both smaller seas as well as in open oceans. The individual patrol vessel may be adjusted in accordance with customers requirements. The individual Patrol vessel can be equipped with the necessary communication and navigation systems and can be prepared for armament.

Lower deck

The vessel is designed as a fast patrol vessel utilising a crew of 20 persons in national territorial waters. The vessel is constructed as a High Speed Patrol vessel, and fulfil all the requirements of the latest Naval High Speed light Craft regulations. The vessel is divided into two main fire zones, with the forward engine bulkhead being the main fire bulkhead. The layout of the general arrangement is with 3 decks, and the hull is divided into 6 watertight compartments.

All crew facilities are concentrated forward of the engine room in order to minimize the discomfort of noise and vibration. Crew and soldier cabins are arranged on the lower deck. Wet units are fitted in the Captain and Chief Engineers cabins. Centralised toilet facilities for the rest if the crew are located on the lower deck. Laundry facilities are located forward on the lower deck. An engineering office is provided forward of the main engine room bulkhead. The galley and provision store are located on the lower deck. The galley is serving the crew mess room also located on the lower deck. A brig is located up forward on the lower deck for prisoners to be housed.

Main deck

The Main deck is arranged with wheel house, store, ammunition store, toilet and command centre. A deck store is arranged on the Fo’c’sle deck. Provision has been made for a 10m Rigid Inflatable Boat to be located aft on a custom built slipway. This allows ease of launching and recovery even when the patrol vessel is at speed. -> Four (4) liferafts are provided in recessed storage units on the main deck. Two are aft of the command centre and 2 are located forward. Add ons: -> Depending on the use of the vessel and its G rating, it may be necessary to install aircraft style seats fitted with seatbelts. -> Three (3) 12.7 mm canons are located on the after deck on the port and starboard sides. -> A 12.7mm canon is also located on the observation deck. -> Ballistic protection of liferafts.

The Upper deck is accessed from the covered external working area by an external stairway located on the starboard side.

Accommodation

A stairway at frame 20 on the port side connects the main deck with the lower deck. This forms the main escape stairway. Three (3) vertical escapes are provided from the lower deck to the main deck.

Class, Rules and Regulations ->

The vessel is not classified, however the vessel is built with consideration to DNV High Speed Light Craft, Naval Surface Craft; to the following class notation: Det Norske Veritas: 1A1 HSLC, PATROL, R3 E0

The hull is constructed of foam core with epoxy resin and carbon fibre reinforced skins. Superstructure is constructed of foam and/or honeycomb cores. Laminated with carbon-fibre/kevlar epoxy reinforced skins. Living areas, wheel house and ess. machinery spaces has ballistic protection to small arms fire. The hull form is typical of a high speed planning vessel. The hull is constructed with integrated tanks for fresh water, water ballast, diesel oil, lubricating oil, sludge oil, cofferdams, & void spaces etc. Aft part of main deck is arranged with a skid way and storage arrangements for a 10m rigid inflatable boat suitable for operation in rough sea. Mechanical winch and associated foundations is installed for recovery purposes.

Vessels generator power is 3 phase, 400 V, AC, 50 HZ. Communication and navigating equipment according to one-manned bridge watch requirements and guidelines as stated in ISO 8468. Remote and automatic controls and instrumentation is provided to the extent required by the relevant rules and regulations. A computer based alarm, control and monitoring system for all essential equipment is arranged.

The propulsion arrangement consists of 2 non reversible diesel engines MTU 4000 16V93L, elastic coupled to 2 reduction gear boxes each driving a MJP 650 waterjet. Installed power for propulsion is approx. 2 x 3400 kW The electric power is generated by 2 diesel generators, each approx. 60 kW. Main engines, diesel generators is arranged for operation with the same type of diesel oil. The engine control room is arranged for all necessary machinery as well as monitoring of the machinery.
