To start best in the topic we did an innovation workshop which was hosted by Gerald Steiner. By using different creativity techniques, such as the world cafe or the 6-3-5 methode, we created first ideas.

Indoor plants As our solution focuses on nature itself, we determined the best air cleaning indoor plants based on the NASA clean air study. Those plants act as filter for harmful toxins and pollutants while producing oxygen and therefore, naturally improve the air quality. To get first hand inside we also visited a garden center and interviewed the experts about the specific needs of the plants.

Bio-photovoltaic Using natural bio-photovoltaic our resource-saving system is selfsustaining. As a result, it is also capable to use the energy for other use-cases, such as charging mobile phones.

Where? The product is designed to naturally adapt to our living space. Therefore it is seen as part of the interior and considered as part of the furnishings.

Modular
ID Portfolio 2017
For our modules, we were looking for a expandable form to give the user more freedom in terms of personalization. Different layouts and sizes can easily be put together while the unusual geometric form triggers curiosity and uniqueness.

Construction The construction focuses on usability and consists of five parts. The base part, the wall mounting, contains electrical parts, such as the battery and the anode, the module shell, the Hydrogel, and two covers which are essential for watering the plants while hanging
on the wall. With the simple coupling mechanism between the base part and the rest of the module, it is easy to create the personal layout on the wall.

Wall Beside being a room divider that seamlessly adapts to your interior furnishing, the wall can also be personalized to the user´s specific needs.
20
Modules We created 4 different modules. The base module contains the indoor plants and is responsible for the air cleaning and energy production. To make the product even more attractive and more sustainable, we created a compost and gardening module for the kitchen. These

modules get their energy from the base module. Last but not least we created a shelf module which gives you the possibility to create a nice wall that is not just for cleaning but also really practical.
21
Materials
Natura
The aim was to create a sustainable product. Therefore, 100% biodegradable materials are used.
22
Hydrogel It is a waterproof polymer which can absorb a large amount of water while retaining their shape and doesn’t dissolve. 1 gram can absorb ca. 1 liter of water and release it again slowly. Due to this facts we used it as soil for the plants.
Zelfo
Form fleece It is sound-absorbing, has a warm surface that is independent of the room temperature, has the best dimensional stability and impact resistance so it is perfect as a biodegradable bookshelf.
Wood For the room-divider we decided to use wood because it has a high stability and can carry more amount of weight.

At the beginning we started to create a moodboard to get a better feeling and understanding what the word speed means to us. It also helped us to define the direction of our design.

created a negative and than a positive of the negative to get the starting form. The other half was made out of foam and than deep-drawn. In the end we combined the two halves and fixed some details. The last step was to paint the model with high gloss black and put it on a presentation stand.

After sketching we started with the clay model to play around with details and proportions. To get the sketch on clay we created a 1:1 tape rendering. After we finished the clay model we molded it with laminate twice. First we

The design
Speedform
We defined speed as the symbioses of aggression and elegance following a clear direction. Therefore, the final design consists of sharp lines and overstretched surfaces to give the form a directional dynamic and embody the described attributes. To emphasize the dynamics, all of the edges are overstretched to give the form a forward-pressing look.
Photography The focus was on perspective and lighting to underline the design of the form. We also took more arty pirctures to further highlight the emotional character of speed. Fh photostudio

Solution Responding to the users needs, according to the evaluation of the questionnaires, we created a 3rd product line, “Share. It is placed between the two existing product lines Home & Garden and Professional and combines the benefits of both. Which are the simple usage of the Home & Garden and the performance of the technical parts from the Professional.

Ideation In the ideation we started with two directions, which are compatible with Kärcher. In the end we chose the modern and plain one which also implied some layering. From the beginning it was clear we wanted to show that the product is a new line between the Home & Garden and the Professional line. So we decided to
combine the color themes of both. Our focus was on the station and especially on the transport products (trolley and case). The cleaning products itself should have the same look but in their function they are pretty the same, that’s why we decided to think about them but don’t elaborate them in detail.

Trolley The heavier and bigger products, steam cleaner and vaccum cleaner are in here because of it’s trolley character it’s much easier to carry them in the apartment.

In this storage unit, all the products stay save when they are not needed. It is also the station where all data is transmitted back to Kärcher.
Key With the Kärcher key you can unlock the trolley or case from the station but you can also use the app on your smart phone.
Case The Wish-polisher and Window-Vac are stored in this case because they are smaller and lighter.

Concept ID Portfolio 2017
This concept can replace almost every key you have. All you need is the key and a fitting lock. The key sends out infrared light which can transmit data of all kind. For example a code for a door. The lock has a receiver which transforms the light back to it‘s code and than open if the code fits. It helps to make the whole opening system more secure.

Applications The system can replace various types of locks as you can see. A big advantage is the fact that you can hide the lock cylinder completely which makes the hole system more secure. You also get rid of the annoying searching for the keyhole in the dark, because you just
need a short contact which is supported by magnets. It is also a good way to secure all your data like passwords or very important stuff which can than be easily read out at your PC. In the end there are almost no limits where you can use it.
52
Package First of all I created a package of the system. In the package are all the essential things what the system needs that it works. It then was also the underlay for my ideation.

To get the right shape I started off with a lot of sketches. But I realized I had to jump between ergonomic mock-ups an sketches because this is a product which is like a talisman and you always carry it on your body.
Final Design In the end peac has a very plain form with hard color cuts. This helps the product to fit to a lot of people and especially it fits the Audi form language.

Background 1913 - 1931
Schneider Trophy
The “Coupe d’Aviation Maritime Jacques Schneider” commonly called the “Schneider Trophy” was a trophy awarded race for seaplanes and flying boats. It was held once a year and was founded to support the technical progress of civil aviation while racing against other nations.
Briefing Year 2050
(new scenario)
The world has changed and it is tough to survive. Society consists out of a few clans that live in different places. Water and food are scarce and most of the landscape is desert. Also the Schneider Trophy has changed. It is now a race of survival. The different clans meet at different sea shore’s and race against each other. The winner gets water, food and oil for his clan. Every clan has to choose one racer to compete in the race.
