Put the Liberals Last
Your Vote Counts! It’s never been more important! I suppose like myself, you would have all had a gut full of the Federal Election. Unfortunately, as a union, we have to be front and centre of trying to get rid of this rotten anti-union, anti-worker Liberal Government! This leaflet is trying to explain the reasons why. Whilst I won’t be telling you what way to vote, I will be expressing my views, and what way I will be voting. There are pictures on the inside that show you all what the Liberals and their mates have done, and who’s corner they sit in. Make NO mistake, we cannot afford another 3 years of a Liberal Government. We have a chance to put a stop to this retched Government once and for all, next Saturday 21st May. We have a chance to put the workers and their families first, also for our pensioners, our mums and dads, brothers and sisters, aunties and uncles.
Let’s all think clearly as Union women and men about who WE want to VOTE for. Let me say, as a trade unionist, I am certainly not into factions, as it always ends up unions fighting unions, to help people climb the greasy pole into Parliament. MY view is the UNION comes first, and I will be voting Labor and putting Morrison and his Liberal mates (Palmer, Hanson & Joyce) last.

CLIVE PALMER AND HIS NONSENSE PARTY ARE NOT TO BE TRUSTED. Palmer didn’t batter an eyelid when he laid off hundreds of innocent workers at Queensland Nickel with no pay or entitlements. He doesn’t care for the working class, he doesn’t care for you!

Don’t forget what Pauline Hanson and One National stands for as well. She voted with the LNP to cut workers’ penalty rates and their loading. She also opposed paid parental leave and was quoted as saying “they get themselves pregnant for the money”. What an absolute disgraceful and insulting thing to say. Pauline Hanson is NO FRIEND OF THE WORKER.

OUT AND ABOUT The importance of getting out amongst the membership has never been more crucial than it is now. I’ve visited various sites and wharfs, ships & ports to discuss the upcoming Federal Election, listening to the concerns of many members and the future they hold. I’ve spoken openly on how I feel about the Morrison Government and the bleak future we’ll have for another 3 years if he wins another term.
I also participated in the May Day 2022 rallies in Brisbane and Sydney, full of people proudly celebrating the working class struggles that have gone by. It’s uplifting marching with the masses of union members, in a sea of high-vis, waving union flags, children carrying banners with union slogans, these kids are the future of this country. It made me so proud to be part of this important event.
The feedback and concerns from members when discussing the upcoming election was first and foremost, “Will these politicians tell the bloody truth?”. Let me be clear about this, if they are not, WE will hold them accountable and never back down. It doesn’t matter what party is in power, WE will never give up fighting for OUR members wages and conditions.
