By 2050, one in four people are likely to live in a country which is affected by chronic or recurring water shortages due to numerous pressures including climate change and rapid urbanization. In fact, by then 66% of the world’s population will be urbanized, up from 54% today. Therefore, cities will need to become smarter in how they manage their precious water resources.
