Patience is a virtue

Patience is a virtue. It is a very old saying, but patience is something we are all capable of. Sometimes though when we get behind the steering wheel it just disappears.

Having patience means you can remain calm, even when you have been waiting forever or dealing with something painstakingly slow. So, as you prepare for your summer adventure (in our own backyard because of you know why) please make sure you take your patience with you. Long journeys can be tedious and we just want to be at our destination. But this year when you get behind the wheel please be patient. When you are stuck behind that slow truck or slow caravan, be patient. When you are thinking of ‘speeding up just a bit to get there in good time’, please be patient. The time you think you will save is minimal and the risk you take is greater than you may think. Enjoy the trip. Accept it will take time to get there. Stop and enjoy the scenery and stretch the legs. Support a local café and recharge with a coffee. So be patient, watch out for pedestrians, look for bikes and if on your journey you see a local Highway Patrol unit, give them a wave.
