Products - Automated Gates Gates - Sliding Sliding gates can be installed to match existing security fencing and are particularly suitable for sites providing access to a number of different vehicle types. They also provide almost total security for any site with operating speeds around 12 seconds. As with most automation options, sliding gates can be controlled by any number of access control systems, usually running on an embedded track, single or double leaf configuration, suitable for up to a 20 meter opening. Gates - Swing Automated swing gates are a viable alternative to sliding gates but do not provide any speed advantage. Swing gates are usually installed as a matter of preference or because an entry/exit location does not allow for any other option. Gates - Cantilever Cantilever gates work on the same principle as sliding gates; however they do not touch the ground, but are suspended on a track permitting crossing of uneven terrain or kerb stones. Gates – Bi-fold Fast-opening swing gates which can be configured to open from one side of the opening (2 x leaves) or both sides of an opening (4 x Leaves). Advantages include the opening widths & speed of operation achievable compared to other types of gates (up to 9m span & 7-12 seconds). Construction incorporates mild steel & aluminum framework and infill would typically incorporate vertical hollow tube, however the frame can be modified to work with any existing design or infill (subject to maximum over-all weight restrictions). Bi-folding gates are ideally suited to sites that require high speed access and the highest security. The gate can be linked to Access Control inputs. Products - Barriers, Blockers & Bollards Barriers Access Automation supply and install a number of barrier systems. One of the more popular options is a high speed stainless steel barrier, completely secure and controllable using a variety of access control systems. Barrier systems operate within 4 seconds and are typically used on busy sites requiring entry and exit traffic management.
Static Blockers, Rising Bollards & Kerbs We can supply and install static or automated rising bollards and kerbs. Styles vary from ‘street furniture’ to industrial and heavy duty designs. Rising bollards and kerbs can be used in conjunction with gates and bespoke combinations of access control systems to enforce traffic management or restrict access.

Products - Barriers, Blockers & Bollards Anti-Ram Barriers The Anti-Ram Sliding Barrier is a formidable security device for any client concerned about large opening doors or shutters. Designed & built in house, it can be tailor made to customers’ specifications and size and finished in galvanized or any RAL colour. Manufactured in welded steel RHS, it utilizes the latest cantilever technology ensuring robustness and reliability. The system can be manual or motor driven using Access Automation’s expertise in the automation field. All aspects of access control can be tailored to the customer’s exact requirements.

Products - Access Control Intercom Systems Intercom systems allow controlled access of visitors from a remote location. An audio or video intercom fitted provides communication between automation location and house/office. They can be supplied as a stand alone system with supplied phones or monitors. These systems can also be integrated with existing phone and television networks. We can install either hardwired or digital intercom depending upon your preference.
Turnstiles Turnstiles are an effective way of controlling pedestrian access to a site and can be fitted internally or externally. Access Automation can supply and install a variety of models from basic manual units to higher specification automated internal units.

Services Site Assessment and Survey Access Automation offers a site assessment and/or survey, usually free of charge, allowing our sales consultants to meet with clients to discuss their requirements and make recommendations on the most suitable security system. Where applicable, our health & safety team may also become involved in the consultation to provide method statements & risk assessments – once an order has been placed. Design & Manufacture Access Automation then works closely with customers to design & manufacture systems to cater for individual needs and requirements. As a member of AESIF – the gate industry recognized body - who vet our installations to ensure the highest quality of installation we may not submit the cheapest option but our quotations are based on the solution that we believe is the best quality product providing the most cost effective long-term solution, taking into account current safety legislative requirements and future maintenance and servicing costs. Councils typically look for AESIF Approved Installation Companies as a measure of the workmanship they expect from am supplier. CE Mark’s are issued on new installations. We have a fully equipped workshop, utilising components and electronics from major suppliers including; BFT Gates, FAAC, Aprimatic and Telguard.

Services Installations & Project Management Our team draws on a specialised database providing up to the minute information on each of our installations, providing a complete and flexible Project Management solution, setting us apart from our competitors. Project scheduling and planning are monitored daily to enable weekly assessments of current installations and their progress. . Method Statements & Risk Assessments can be provided relating to new installations for our clients as required. Once the project is complete, a full information pack is provided to the client including OEM, operating instructions, safety information, system testing, and if applicable, a service plan/record. After Sales Care & Service Contracts Access Automation focuses on cost effective long-term solutions and installations with total after sales service and support. For our commercial clients, not only can we ensure total site security via automated access systems we can also advise on engineer arrival times utilizing the latest vehicle tracking via the latest IT technology. Benefits of the service contract include: Annual site visit for low use sites Telephone and technical support over the 12 month period during office hours 24/48 hour response time for breakdowns Database record of all activity & call outs relating to a serviced installation. Case Studies National Air Traffic Control Survey, supply and installation of a complex vehicle control solution, making use of our Rapid Access Gates and Road blockers.
British Port Authority: Tilbury & Southampton Docks Installation of a series of sliding gates, barriers and turnstile at both of these high profile British Port Authority sites. Our brief was to work with the existing access roadways and upgrade or in some cases replace the exiting access security.
2nd Severn Crossing: Installation of automated gates on the service stations underneath the 2nd Severn Crossing.
Kent Police: Tactical Response Unit HQ We have recently completed the installation of another set of our Bi-Fold Gates at the above site. The client had a specific requirement that any vehicle leaving the site at high speed should not be required to slow or be hindered upon exit. Our solution provided the client with exactly what was required.

Case Studies Hertz Car Rental Installation of 2 road blockers at Edinburgh Airport for Hertz, at the entrance and exit to their Gold Club car park using an ANPR system (Automatic number plate recognition). The client, put us under pressure from the outset with a short lead time for quoting and the added challenge of higher than usual security considerations due to the car park’s location at an airport. Once awarded the contract we then completed the work within 3 weeks, including a week long installation on site.
Kew Gardens: Design and installation of a sophisticated system of automated pedestrian access turnstiles to regulate safe entry and exit from the gardens.
