COLLEGE

cycle stand

The College steel cycle stands are a popular choice due to their timeless appearance, great value and low maintenance finish. These durable, easy to maintain stands can be bolted down or root fixed, and are available in galvanised steel and stainless steel. For extra strength, a larger diameter can be specified. The College stands are the most economical on the market today and are usually available from stock. They can also be offered with a hardwearing plastic coated finish in a range of colours.

Individual stands enable a number of installation configurations. For example, stands can be angled, as shown, to reduce the amount of width that cycles occupy. Alternatively stands can be supplied welded together to form a ‘toast rack’ that is ideal for locations where the unit is required to be freestanding or for speed of installation. steel reinforced cycle stands The Hammersmith and Transport polyurethane elastomer cycle stands are cast around a strong inner steel core. The PU outer is extremely durable against the rigours of the environment and damage from cycle chains. In addition to providing an extra point to secure bicycles, the tapper rail aids detection by the partially sighted. The TRL600 has a tapper plate fitted with highlighted cycle parking plaques as standard. The cycle stand also comes with reflective tape on all sides for enhanced visibility.

cycle shelters Furnitubes range of Academy free-standing covered shelter units are an ideal way to encourage cycle use. The contemporary heavy duty steel frame is extremely strong and galvanised for long-term protection against the elements. In a bid to reduce the amount of car journeys, staff and pupils are being encouraged to cycle to work and school. The provision of cycle stands and shelters reduces cyclists fear of theft or damage to their bikes, and protects bikes from the elements. Secure cycle parking at stations, interchanges and visitor attractions increases traffic flow and reduces congestion by promoting bicycle and rail travel through integrated transport.

CYCLE PARKING

The durable corrugated roof is available either galvanised or galvanised and plastisol colour coated. Many of Furnitubes cycle stands can be adapted for specific locations, ranging from coloured coatings to featuring logos and corporate information. The Yorkshire Rose cycle stand shown left, is an example of this. The mild steel stand has been plastic coated black with laser cut wording and has been fitted with a vitreous enamel plate.

Several of Furnitubes bollards can be adapted to accept a tube, transforming them into cycle stands. The Brighton bollard shown here has been adapted as a cycle stand, allowing it to blend perfectly with existing bollards also from the Furnitubes range.
