process Instant couture

Draping is the process of positioning and pinning fabric on a dress form to develop the structure of a garment design. I experimented quite enough playing with a variety of fabrics and the way fabrics falls to create new

designs at the start of the apparel design process. Trying to create simple materials by working only on a mannequin without initial sketches, learning to understand the behavior of materials and create volumes.

06

We took a lot of pictures, drawn sketches and took notes working through the experimental stages. This included also taking notes of details and helpful construction

elements that were not clear from photos. Once selected different colors and fabrics, everyone has experienced a different design, helping each other during the process.

inspiration nisiros capsule collection

The main inspiration of the Nisiros capsule collection is the island of Nisiros. a volcanic Greek island. According to Greek mythology, the island was formed when Poseidon cut off a part of Kos and

threw it onto the giant Polybotes to stop him from escaping. The collection clearly illustrate the silhouette of the garments inspired from island’s geology and its main town small typical houses and their abstract shapes.

08

Exploring Nisiro’s smooth and often ropey or wrinkly surface as well as some absent, small or picturesque details from the small typical houses, the good use of oval and curved shapes was born. By using these shapes in my pieces I

have created a unique, well-established aesthetic. Dark, bold colors will help aid the empowerment and provide a sense of sophistication.

The word “cactus” derives, through Latin, from the Ancient Greek κάκτος, kaktos, a name originally used by Theophrastus for a spiny plant whose identity is not certain. When the word “cactus” is mentioned, the first couple of adjectives that usually come to mind are “dry” and “heat”. There are many different types, shapes, and sizes of cactus and succulent plants.

22

Absent, small cactus leaves, dark and bold colours are costitute the inspiration for the cactus collection.

The collection clearly illustrate the silhouette of the garments ispired from cactus plants and their abstruct shapes. Exploring their absent, small or transient leaves and making good use of oval and curved shapes. By using these shape in my pieces I have created a unique, well-established aesthetic. Dark, bold colors will help aid the empowerment and provide a sense of sophistication.

46

color palette The concept is to design a new iconic shirt inspired by Italian and Indian cinema, based on the classical tailoring, promoting the knowledge of italian tailoring tradition in Indian fashion.

The genderless style is designed for the woman and man of the new generation. The goal is to improve the value of the shirt as a product and improve user’s life.

The two pockets reach 2/3 of the overall length of the shirt, building a harmonic proportionality. Collar and cuffs have the same geometric balance.

Some details are highlighted by the white back, the cuffs, the back of the collar, the back of the pockets and the back of the chest.

underwater love The girl is running her life in the city, in a society that puts in her boundaries and rules. She thinks about the ocean to escape from reality with her imagination. An illusory concept state of mind, a girl lost in her thoughts, the view of the ocean gives her freedom but

too much freedom can make her loose her direction, a constant search for the way to go, in contrast with the rationality of the society and the city we live in that surround us by defined paths. She is not lost, she is on her way. She expressed herself through her style.

58

The denim top is all about the shape, it creates a circle shape between sleeves and the bottom line. The clean geometry is the focus. The denim is in its raw state without any treatment.

The denim skirt has a clean geometry, midlength and the diagonal design of the 100 fringes - in four different colors emphasize its shape and set up a rhythm. Another material join the denim in this garment: the linen.

inspiration color echo collection

There are few things in design that are more subjective, or more important, than the use of color. A color that can evoke one reaction in one person may evoke the opposite reaction in another, due to culture, prior association, or even just personal preference.

68

Bright, bold colors will help aid empowerment and provide a sense of sofistication.

The collection “color echo dedicates to all of us, encouraging ourselves to be more confident, to think possively, and to embrace the imperfect ourselves, meanwhile, follow our heart and do not try to deny ourselves because all of us deserve a better colorful life.

Colorfulness, chroma, purity, or saturation: how “intense” or “concentrated” a color is. Technical definitions distinguish between colorfulness, chroma, and saturation as distinct perceptual attributes and include purity as a physical quantity.

In both design and personal life, I’ve allways found that travel inspires me more than anything else I do. Evidence of the cultures, scenery, food, and design sensibiliteis that I discovered in Serifos island can be found in every piece of my jewelry.

accessories design

79

inspiration serifos collection

Serifos (Greek: Σέριφος) is a Greek island municipality in the Aegean Sea, located in the western Cyclades. Inspired by the abstract shapes in the natural world around me I designed a series of garments that will help empower women. By using these shapes in my pieces I have created a unique, well-established aesthetic. Bright, bold colors will help aid this empowerment and provide a sense of sophistication.

80

In Greek mythology, Serifos is where DanaÍ and her infant son Perseus washed ashore after her father Acrisius, in response to an oracle that his own grandson would kill him, set them adrift at sea in a wooden chest. When Perseus returned to Serifos with the head of the Gorgon Medusa, he turned Polydektes, the king of Serifos, and his retainers into stone as punishment for the king’s attempt to marry his mother by force.
