h e Manor House T The Heart of Brookberry Farm Tucked away in the beautiful rolling hills of Brookberry Farm is the Manor House. The historic property was constructed for the Bowman Gray, Jr., former chairman and CEO of R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Company and noted philanthropist. The home has been host to scores of community events, family gatherings and is now for sale as part of the Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Carolinas Realty Luxury Collection. This unique country estate was designed by famed area architect William Roy Wallace in 1949 and remains an exceptional home with traditional charm and unlimited modern potential. The estate home includes five acres of pristine countryside buffered by an additional three acres of common greenspace. With nine bedrooms, six-and-a-half baths and an indoor pool, the Manor House is perfect for a family who cherishes timeless quality or could be adapted for an alternate use by a visionary entrepreneur.

Snow & Ice REMOVA L
Many neighbors at Brookberry Farm are already dreaming of warmer weather. Spring arrives in just a few weeks, but here in the mid-South it’s possible to get snow and ice at least through the end of March. If more winter weather hits the area, keep these tips in mind for safe removal of snow and ice from driveways, walkways and stairs.
• To help prevent injuries, warm up your muscles before shoveling snow and be sure to take your time to prevent exhaustion – and remember to keep hydrated. • When shoveling snow, do not dump it onto the sidewalk, streets or over drains. • Use calcium chloride – not salt – to melt ice. It works better and faster than salt and won’t cause as much damage to your property. • Do not use hot water to remove ice. This can quickly refreeze and turn to the much-dreaded black ice! • If possible, offer to help to remove snow or ice from your Brookberry Farm neighbors’ walkways. Streets within Brookberry Farm are publically owned, and snow removal is handled by the City of Winston-Salem. To report the need for snow and ice removal or other street maintenance, call CityLink311 at (336) 727-8000.
