Dear Brookberry Farm Residents,
Thus far 2016 has been another outstanding year at Brookberry. The neighborhood continues to grow in wonderful ways and the sense of community is stronger than ever. Thank you all for the many parts that you play in making the neighborhood such a great success. I wanted to bring you up to speed on the construction projects that are currently going on. Phase IV and the Village continue their incredible success. We hope that you have enjoyed watching them take shape and the added amenities of the Village Green. Phase V is located just through the main entrance to the left and is the extension of Summerhill Lane. This phase consists of 39 traditional Brookberry Farm lots. The infrastructure is in and home construction will begin in October. Phase VI is located at the intersection of Hundley Road and Rosewind Lane. This phase consists of 34 cluster home sites that will be an extension of Walnut Park. Phase VI will also have 14 larger, more traditional lots that back up to Reynolds Creek. There are also two construction projects outside of Brookberry Farm that I wanted to bring to your attention. The first is a branch of State Employees Credit Union Branch located at the southernmost tip of the property across from the Sheetz convenient store. The other is a high end apartment development adjacent to the SECU site. This project will have its own amenity package and will not share anything with the Brookberry Farm HOA.
As always, please feel free to give me a call with any questions. We’re glad that you’ve chosen to make Brookberry Farm your home. All the best, Jim McChesney
Everybody Loves Fall The wait is over! Fall and September are finally ushering in some cooler air that we all have been waiting for. Right now is the time to get those fall vegetable plants in the ground for a quick harvest before the October and November frost hits. Now is also the time to get that lawn back in shape. A few simple steps at the right time will not only produce a beautiful lawn for the rest of the year, it will go a long way to a healthy, beautiful yard next spring. Plug or aerate the soil, then apply recommended amounts of lime, slow release fertilizer and seed. Water as needed. It really is that easy to have a great lawn during the fall. September and October are perfect months for planting trees and shrubs. With cooler temperatures and plants heading towards dormancy, it is a much more forgiving time to install a new landscape than the warmer months. Dig a wide hole rather than a deep hole. Roots are expanding horizontally and when the red clay is mixed with planting mix the roots will slowly grow all winter long and give the plant a great head start heading into the following year. Also, add some pansies and mums to beds and containers to give your entry way a colorful refresh for the season.
