TIP: Rise to lofty heights – with a little help from the lift!
Set off to the Gaisberg lift from the hotel. If you choose not to take the lift, walk south along the cycle path until it branches off to the Gaisbergalm. Continue to the Bärstättalm. If you’re feeling ambitious, walk via the Gaisberg and take the turn-off on the right above the Bärstättalm. For a less strenuous challenge, follow the route that leads south to the Kobingerhütte hut where the two paths meet again. Follow the forest road to the Brechhornhaus and Kreuzjöchlsee lake. Just before the lake, a steep footpath branches off to the right. This leads along the east ridge to the summit cross. Descend by the same way or along the west ridge. If you take the Alpenrosenbahn down to the valley, our VIP shuttle can bring you back to the Rosengarten. THE FACTS Moderate, 11.3 km, 1,190 elevation gain, 5-hour ascent POWER FOOD Gaisbergalm: Cosy, rustic and typically Tyrolean Bärstättalm: Regional + seasonal = ideal! SO REFRESHING: LABALM TIP: Great for e-bikers too! Either set off from the hotel on foot – which adds 7km to the walk – or let us give you a lift to the car park in Aschau. From the chapel, head south to Ebenaualm and keep going to the suspension bridge and waterfall. Soon you’ll arrive at the Hintenbach barbecue area and the Kasplatzl dairy. From there the walk leads past the Hintenbachalm. Follow the road on the left until you reach the junction for Labalm – the walk should take two hours. Return by the same way you came.
