Dear Guests and Friends of the Hotel Tirol, Winter has its own special magic with days that are defined by winter sports and the fun of the pistes. This year, the new ski depot in Fiss and recently completed Zirbenabfahrt connecting slope that provides great ski access to the Fiss northside add even more pleasure to our guests’ ski enjoyment. On the other hand, winter in Serfaus-Fiss-Ladis can also be a gentle affair: discover the area’s mellower side whilst snowshoeing, on a romantic horse drawn sleigh ride, or along one of the expansive cross country ski runs – where sunshine, crystal clear air and glorious mountain views are all part of the package. After an active day out, return to the Hotel Tirol where wellbeing for all the senses awaits. Relax in the heat of the Finnish sauna, unwind on the comfortable loungers in the quiet chillout room, or delight in a wide range of culinary delights – we make sure your time with us is filled with earthly pleasures.

The Earthly Pleasures at the Hotel Tyrol are abundant with regional specialities and begin early in the morning: Wake up to the fragrance of freshly baked bread, and help yourself to farm butter, homemade jams, yoghurt, fresh fruit, cereal, mueslis, sausage and ham specialities, an impressive selection of cheeses, and various egg dishes from the breakfast buffet. Tuck in and recharge your batteries for a full day of winter activities. More Earthly Pleasures await in the form of our afternoon snacks: come back from your outdoor pursuits and sporting challenges to while away a few hours before dinner with delicious homemade cake, warming soups and crisp salads. In the evening, our grand culinary finale consists of five courses with a choice of dishes for
each course. Help yourself to fresh salads and homemade dressings from our salad bar, and enjoy our exceptional selection of cheeses. Speaking of pleasure – your creature comforts also take centre stage in our Pleasure Lounge, which lies at the heart of our hotel. Europe’s most family-friendly ski resort In Serfaus-Fiss-Ladis 45,000sqm are set aside exclusively for kids. 250 highly qualified children’s ski instructors teach skiing and snowboarding with lots of fun, laughter and the latest educational methods. Children are never placed under pressure and get to decide for themselves whether skiing and snowboarding is for them. Tellingly, the instructors’ catchphrase is ‘you can do everything - but you don’t have to’. Children who don’t fancy lessons are allowed to play or watch the clowns. Thanks to the children’s own desire for success they quickly catch up and achieve their learning objective in a very short time.
There is also a phenomenal range of innovative and thoughtfully designed resources for the comfort and entertainment of children at the Kinderschneealm Serfaus, at the Murmlipark in Serfaus and in Bertas Kinderland Fiss-Ladis: magic carpets, dinosaur forest, animal park, fairy tale village, and a Native American village among many more.

Fiss winter news ✪ New ski depot in Fiss A convenient new ski check-in and depot service is now available near the Schönjochbahn lower cable car terminus. The ski depot and cable car terminus are easy to access from the car park and there are escalators and lifts in the building.

✪ New Zirbenabfahrt connecting slope To improve the connection between the Almbahn cable car and the Schöngamp downhill run, as well as the links to the Naggalun run, Sportabfahrt and Genussabfahrt, a new connecting slope called the Zirbenabfahrt opens this winter. It is located below the Zirbenhütte and equipped with a snow cannon. This means great connections to the north side of Fiss – and unhindered, boundless ski fun!

Exceptional experiences Snowcat. Serfaus, Fiss, Ladis. If you have always been fascinated by the powerful yet elegant way in which snowcats dance across the slopes, why not take a front row seat on one of the 9 tonne, 490 hp piste bashers? Every day at 4.15pm a maximum of two persons can hop aboard the ‘Bully Rider’ at the bar in the Komperdell panoramic restaurant in Serfaus and a maximum of five persons at 4.30pm at the Möseralm in Fiss. Crystal Cube. Fiss. A special gourmet address for unprecedented delectation – the Crystal Cube. Not far from the Z1 viewing platform, a giant cube emerges from the landscape at 2,600m above sea level. The entire façade is mirrored, which makes it impossible to see into this edifice with its faintly extraterrestrial appearance. When you enter the cube, however, the picture changes dramatically. The glass walls offer a breathtaking 360° panoramic view of the wintery mountains. While you admire the panorama you are served finger food at its best – even fresh oysters can be made available.
