WELL – EATING – WELL – TREATING – WELL – BEING Good quality of life requires us to think about lifestyle. And there are times when we need to slow down and take time for ourselves. Time to enjoy. Time to be active. Time to listen to others attentively instead of allowing our electronic devices to distract us. Making the conscious choice to slow down allows us to hold space for ourselves and others – to enjoy life and experience its full beauty. Slowing down – especially on holiday – is the holistic approach we are taking for our new ALPINE ELEMENTS® concept.
Awareness, exercise, meditation, medicinal plants and nutrition – these are the five pillars of the holistic ALPINE ELEMENTS® concept, based on the experience and knowledge of traditional European as well as Eastern medicine, diets and lifestyles. The aim is to raise awareness of our own bodies, minds and souls – a pioneering step towards an improved quality of life. Every human being is unique, so the Rosengarten’s many facets are there to meet your individual requirements – in our SPA, in our exercise and activity programmes, or in our kitchen. Experiences for your senses that explore new avenues for supreme wellbeing.

ENJOY ALPINE ENJOY WELLNESS The peak of EATING WELL – Alpine Elements® SPA cuisine Freshly prepared dishes with equally fresh ingredients, flavoursome herbs from the garden, light meals – and time to really savour what you eat – are the cornerstones of the Rosengarten’s new ALPINE ELEMENTS® SPA cuisine. Produce sourced from the Alpine region is as important as mindful preparation and the careful combination of ingredients. The alkaline ALPINE ELEMENTS® SPA menu offers light meals with ingredients that gently – and deliciously – stabilise your personal energy balance. The concept: eat well.
ALPINE ELEMENTS® SPA menu – the freedom to decide in favour of wellbeing Starting this summer, our new SPA cuisine will be available at Bistro-Restaurant Rosengarten. Offering a delicious alternative to our 5-course half board dinner or à la carte menu, our ALPINE ELEMENTS® cuisine allows your instincts to decide and provides culinary enjoyment for all your senses. Tip: why not book a DETOX break with ALPINE ELEMENTS® SPA cuisine or a detox juice plan?
JUICE ...natural and life-affirming. The fresher the better. Drinking juices is a great way to absorb nutrients – which is why we now offer handpressed juices from the Tyrolean mountains – or, to be more precise, from the Wilder Kaiser. Bergblut juices contain pure, natural ingredients and no preservatives. Their intelligent composition meets a significant proportion of our daily requirements of antioxidant vitamins, trace elements and phytonutrients. Gentle production methods preserve the juices’ essential fibre and the majority of microbiota: truly invigorating!
Feel the ease, let go and... breathe! The Rosengarten SPA offers an exceptional setting for finding our way back to ourselves with its indescribably soothing atmosphere, so light and easy on the senses. Our SPA products are based on the purity and power of nature. Susanne Kaufmann™ and [ comfort zone ] are two product lines that perfectly embody nature. Our therapists have developed special DETOX treatments to harmonise with our ALPINE ELEMENTS® SPA cuisine and add to your soothing and balancing SPA experience. Our new gym’s personal fitness & relaxation programme plus comprehensive range of outdoor activities complete our wellbeing experience.
BEING WELL IN THE KITZBÜHEL ALPS Experiences and sensory impressions gained outside of our hotel also determine our holiday wellbeing. The Kitzbühel Alps offer a perfect backdrop for your centring holiday surrounded by unspoilt nature; the perfect environment for changing course and breathing in crystal-clear mountain air. Our private guide Patrizia takes you along pathways most suited to you and your most profound needs… Invigorate your senses with ALPINE ELEMENTS®!

R OSEN GA R TE N GOLFING PA R TNER S: GC KITZBÜHELER ALPEN WESTENDORF 18-HOLE GOLF COURSE A golfing jewel, happily positioned on the sunny plateau southwest of Westendorf. The 18-hole, par 72 golf course is spread across 5,920m, and is the most recently established course in the region. The fairways are flat and easy to walk. However, they are also demanding: if you’re likely to play an imprecise game on this gorgeous yet narrow fairway you’ll need to take along plenty of balls. Glorious: the clubhouse terrace with its panoramic view of the 18th hole and Hohe Salve mountain beyond. www.gc-kitzbueheler-alpen.at

GC KITZBÜHEL-SCHWARZSEE, SCHWARZSEE-REITH 18-HOLE GOLF COURSE For all types of golf, with varied fairways, challenging water hazards and splendid views. PGA venue. Starts with a 500m long opening hole, and is followed by the course’s most difficult hole: par 4, 414m. A further notable hole is the par 3 ‘mousetrap’ (16th), which is played over a small ravine! www.kitzbuehel-golf.com GC EICHENHEIM 18-HOLE GOLF COURSE Few golf courses in Europe offer the charming ambience of the Eicheinheim golf club. FINE DINING
// LES GRANDES TABLES DU MONDE
// GAULT&MILLAU – 4 toques, 19 points ‘Inconspicuous at first glance, this hotel houses one of Austria’s most spectacular restaurants. Spectacular, not in terms of the furnishings which are luxurious with a nod at the Alpine setting, but with regard to the food served by Simon Taxacher and his team. Austria’s love affair with regionality is allowed to take a break here: in Taxacher’s universe food can be sourced from all over the world – from South Tyrol to the Alsace, from Switzerland to the Atlantic – and he’d be happiest if he could keep his suppliers secret. Have we ever waxed lyrical before about vegetables? Taxacher expands our consciousness of vegetables and serves them in a way that can overshadow his dishes’ intended stars – although these too are a joy! Especially the locally caught fish – there aren’t many cooks in Austria who can prepare these with such style and panache. Examples? Delicate Tyrolean char with buckwheat and skirret or snow-white Wels catfish with puntarelle and bronze fennel served with fennel broth, fried catfish liver and a small black pudding and fennel roulade – great cuisine, highly detailed. Swiss Luma pork, fermented shallots and Périgord truffles or wagyū with purple curry give even the most jaded palates cause to pause and savour – nothing about Taxacher’s cooking is incidental, everything is highly considered. As expected, the Bernard Antony cheese board is perfect, and the desserts as skilfully prepared as ever – think Tyrolean Renette apple with brown butter and miso. The service and wine advice are guaranteed to set the right tone. There is no question that Simon Taxacher has arrived where he always wanted to be: at the very top.’
// A LA CARTE – 5 stars, 98 points, 3 bottles ‘Pigeon Miéral was exactly as it should be. It‘s difficult to find the same quality anywhere else in Austria. The cheese selection is magnificent, the rhubarb, hay and cornflower dessert brilliant. Taxacher now works with an English-speaking team in the kitchen and has ensured his restaurant is of international standing for a long time now. The wine list is also of the highest standard.’
// FALSTAFF RESTAURANT GUIDE – 4 forks, 98 points ‘Tyrol’s 2018 winner! Modern, international gourmet cuisine with Japanese influences – think Ike-Jime-slaughtered fish. Superb wine list includes sake plus there is a cigar lounge.’
// LAURENT-PERRIER HORNSTEIN-RANKING 2017 & 2018 No. 1 in Austria – 3 crowns, 99 points
// 2 Michelin stars in 2009, the first and only restaurant in Tyrol ever to be awarded this distinction.

E XCLUSIVE ROSENGARTEN WINE DAYS
TASTING TIMES Exclusive Rosengarten wine days We promise extraordinary sensory experiences with sparkling entertainment during the Rosengarten’s first ever wine days on 31 August to 2 September. We will be featuring three wine tastings, one good cause and a simply exceptional gourmet adventure! Our Tasting Times start on Friday afternoon with the ‘Tignanello 1971-2014’ charity event. Dr Fritz Wennig is kindly making available his Tignanello collection comprising the best vintages spanning the years from 1971-2014 for a charity tasting! The proceeds will be donated to a good cause.
Sommelier Pa trick Somweber
Friday evening is all about oenophile gourmet delights: ‘7x4’ is the theme of our seven-course sommelier dinner. The four international wines guests taste with each course have been selected by top international sommeliers. Bordeaux 1918-2008 is the evocative title of Saturday’s lunch with 10 wines from celebrated châteaux. In the evening, we’ll be flying the Austrian flag with our five-course BistroRestaurant dinner with three rare Austrian vintages chosen by our sommelier Patrick Somweber: Hirtzberger Singerriedel, Tement Zieregg, Pöckl Admiral, Heinrich Gabarinza and a sweet Knoll. Ready for more? Great, as we end Saturday night with even more wine – our ‘Bad Taste’ party starts at 10.30pm. This late-night tasting features mature international wines with low ratings and underrated vintages. Prepare to be pleasantly surprised...

FIRST COME, FIRST SERVED!
TIGNANELLO – a look behind the scenes Tignanello is made exclusively from grapes grown on the eponymous 57-hectare vineyard in Tuscany with limestonerich soils and a southwestern exposure at 350-400m above sea level. It was the first Sangiovese wine to be aged in small oak barrels, the first modern red wine to use such nontraditional varieties as Cabernet in its blend, and among the first red wines from the Chianti Classico area to be produced without white grapes. The wine, originally called ‘Chianti Classico Riserva vigneto Tignanello’ (a Chianti Classico Riserva from the Tignanello vineyard), was first produced from a single vineyard parcel in 1970, when the blend contained 20% of Canaiolo and 5% of Trebbiano and Malvasia grapes, and the wine was aged in small oak barrels. In 1971 it became a Tuscan red table wine rather than a Chianti Classico and was called Tignanello. Starting in 1975, white grapes were entirely removed from the blend. The blend has remained unchanged since 1982. Tignanello is only produced with the best vintages.
