Tradition & lifestyle In the entrance, the quaint ZirbenstĂźberl makes an impression with chamois, stag, deer and ibex head trophies. In the restaurant, the eye is drawn to the hand-carved spruce wood ceiling. The wine cellar is finished with rare bricks from the Austrian Dual Monarchy era, hand-painted wall tiles and ceramic Mouton-Rothschild floor tiles, and can be reserved for small group celebrations and wine tasting evenings.

mong the gems in the Jagdhof’s cellar are some rare Bordeaux wines of the 1982, 1986, 1989 and 1990 cult vintages as well as much older vintages that are now extremely difficult to find. The vaults also house bottles of Burgundy’s Domaine de la Romanée Conti estate, known to aficionados as DRC, as well as an impressive collection of Masseto by Tenuta dell’Ornellaia, Italy’s highly coveted and most expensive wine. The Jagdhof’s wine list features every bottle size and many vintages. Another notable tipple worth a mention is the illustrious ‘phantom wine’. Wine lovers whisper awe-struck tales about this wine that few have ever seen, let alone sipped: Screaming Eagle – the cult wine from California’s Napa Valley. The Jagdhof wine cellar holds two vintages of this wine.

Château Lafleur Château Lafleur from Pomeral near Bordeaux is described by experts as ‘sumptuous’ and was also rated as one of the ‘most elegant’. The Lafleur is a rare gem among Bordelais wines with an average annual production of

12,000 bottles – plus around 3,000 bottles of Pensées de Lafleur, the second wine first launched in 1987. The 4.5 hectares of vineyard in Pomerol comprise half Merlot and half Cabernet Franc. The land has been owned by the family of Jacques and Sylvie Guinaudeau since 1872, and the 2000 vintage is described as a dream wine.

Château Margaux The vineyard in the Médoc region near Bordeaux impresses with one of the most famous wines in the world. Château Margaux has had premier grand cru status for over 150 years, with a total of 99 hectares of vineyards on a 265-hectare estate. A 1787 Château Margaux tasted by renowned wine critic Michael Broadbent in 1987 was given the highest possible rating of five stars: a triumph! The best vintages of recent times include the 1982 and the 1983 and it is no secret that Château Margaux’s red wines are some of the most expensive in the world.

600 years of history in winegrowing. Tenuta Tignanello boasts an extremely special location: the grapes for Tignanello wine grow and ripen in the heart of the Chianti Classico region. The growing region in Tuscany is primarily characterised by typical red Sangiovese grapes. These are considered a fine product and are extremely popular with wine connoisseurs. It is no surprise that the Antinoris are setting the trend with Sassicaia, just as the fact that the 1968 vintage origin wine is a real rarity nowadays. Sassicaia is the only Italian wine with its own DOC designation, and the winery has been managed by Marquis Nicolò Incisa della Rocchetta since the 1980s.
