Welcome all to Loughborough University, where today we host Huddersfield in another Round of National 2 North.

Huddersfield will be looking to get a 2nd win of the season, as well as we will be keen to get back to winning ways. Last weeks rearranged game against Stourbridge was great advert to the quality of rugby in the National Leagues. Stourbridge are setting the standard this season, playing a good brand of rugby. There were opportunities for us in the game but it was a lesson in being accurate that set us apart.

This week has been a rest week in BUCS Super Rugby, but the BUCS 2 group had big game in their promotion campaign with an impressive win away at Manchester Met. The game saw the score change hands a number of times with the team 26 – 36 down with 5 mins to go. Coming through with 2 late score they won impressively 38 – 36. The focus for this group is to gain promotion back into the BUCS Premiership.

The Gallagher Premiership clubs this week go into their Cup Programme, and there are a number of our students involved. It’s great to see our students get the opportunity to play at higher level and gain a valuable experience. This weekend sees Saints (3 players), Wasps (3 Players), Tigers (2 Players), Saracens (1 Player) and Worcester (1 Player). This is on top of Freddie Steward playing for England. Go well lads.
