WELCOME FROM RHYS EDWARDS
RHYS EDWARDS DIRECTOR OF RUGBY
Welcome all to Loughborough University, where today we host Stourbridge in the rearranged fixture from Round 5 of National 2 North. The original game was a casualty of COVID, evidence that we still need to be mindful of its prevalence.
Stourbridge are still unbeaten in the league and have quietly picked up some impressive results. Last weeks away win at Wharfdale continued that run, which show they are a force again this season in Nat 2 North.
Last week game proved a classic for the neutral against Sheffield Tigers, however we are kicking ourselves for not finishing the job in such a high scoring game. There are certainly some lessons there that we have learnt and everyone is excited for the challenge this weekend.
The BUCS Competition continued again this week with all our teams again playing, with impressive wins for our BUCS 2s, 3s, 4s and 5s. Continuing their unbeaten starts to the season. The BSR squad fell agonisingly short away at Durham (12-17), in a very cold, and attritional encounter. The last minute penalty by Josh Lewis, will be a valuable bonus point, but certainly a game we should’ve one.
Another reminder of our new club membership model. Thank you for all that have already joined, please make sure you to access all the club have to offer. It would be great to have as many of you as members of our club, and your support would ensure that we continue to develop the next generations of players and staff.

All the best to everyone today.
