Desktop Sharing

Click the “Start Desktop Sharing” button

If you get this window, click “Install and Launch” if the projector is not installed. If it is already installed just click “Launch”.

Once installed, select again the green ‘Start Desktop Sharing’ button and then select the region of your screen that you wish to share. We recommend the ‘Monitor’ option. If you have more than one monitor you will need to select which monitor you want to share.

Once screen sharing begins you will be able to see a preview of what your participants are viewing. This will appear in the middle of your screen as seen here. This image tells you that screen sharing is now live and that your participants are viewing whatever you are showing. You will then need to make sure that your screen is re-sized to fit all monitors. To do this, simply click on the ‘View Large Preview’ check box in the middle of your screen.

You will then need to select the ‘Fit to Screen’ Icon which is located at the top of your screen (the icon with the four arrows pointing inwards located to the right of the green start desktop sharing icon). This will ensure that whatever you are sharing is automatically resized to fit into your participants screen.

You will then need to select the ‘Fit to Screen’ Icon which is located at the top of your screen . This will ensure that whatever you are sharing is automatically resized to fit into your participants screen.

You are now ready to go. If you wish to share a web page simply open a new browser and do so as you normally would. If you wish to share anything else, minimise your browser and then open and file that you wish to share.

Remember – whatever you see on your screen you participants will see in about 3-4 seconds. It’s important to factor in a small delay, especially when sharing visuals.

Just another note: Once screen sharing starts you may see your screen inside your screen, this is also known as a looping mirror effect. Do not be concerned with this. Simply follow the earlier steps, and then open a new browser, file or application you wish to share.
