For less than the cost of a supplement, we created an interactive, multi-media campaign over one week, that started with print campaign that led readers to a micro site where they discovered what the campaign was about. Prospective students could then sign up for more information or download a registration form from the micro site. On the final day of the campaign, which was graduation day, we put out a congratulation advert for the graduating class, while still directing traffic to the micro site.

Client : White Dezert Category : Re Branding Campaign : White Dezert Re Branding The Challenge In a bid to re position itself and be more competitive, White Dezert yoghurt decided to re-brand, and approached us to develop their new brand identity as well as the packaging of their line of yoghurt products. Our Idea Yoghurt is bold, smooth creamy by nature. We developed a logo that captured that very essence, reflected both in color and in the “free-flowing” typography. On the packaging design, we drew inspiration from the sun, a key element in the ripening of fruits, which themselves are a key ingredient of White Dezert yoghurts.

Client : Wilken Group Category : Print, branding Campaign : Wilken website re design Our brief was to redesign the Wilken site to aggregate the online presences of the group’s companies. As part of a bigger communication strategy, we shifted the focus of the visual identity from a cold & technical appearance and implemented the idea of the business landscape across their collateral material including business cards, letterheads and complimentary slips.

Though spinal injuries are increasingly common in Kenya as a result of road accidents or shootings, there is no proper rehabilitation centre in the country, with the closest one being in Cape Town, South Africa.

: Maharaja Client Category : Branding, Marketing Campaign, Radio Advert Campaign : Good morning your majesty Maharaja is a brand created by TDF for the leading mattress manufacturer in the region. The client had all mattresses under the same company and brand name: Bobmil Lala Salama. We had to form the brand architecture and give each of the brands their own identity. This particular brand is the best, most luxurious and hence the most expensive as far as the foam mattresses Bobmil have to offer. Hence, the idea was based around luxury and sleeping soundly like a king, i.e. Maharaja (Hindi title for great king) and to relate it to good sleep and waking up fresh, we gave it the tagline - Good morning...your majesty! Keeping the royal image of the brand intact. We received very positive results within the first few months of the campaign, sales shot up over taking some of the already well established brands in the market.

: Heineken Client Category : Shopper Marketing Campaign : Heineken Tanzania social media campaign A shopper marketing exercise was carried out for Heineken giving Nakumatt shoppers the Heineken experience as they entered the Wines and Spirits section. The idea was to influence their purchasing decision at the point of decision making. The brand engaged with the shopper at the Point of Sale/POS which led to an increase in sales for the international company over the local well known brands that Kenyans were loyal to. The structured tunnel remained at the entrance of the alcoholic beverage section in various branches of the leading supermarket in the country for a period of three years continuing to enhance this shopping experience, sometimes showcasing the replica of the champions league trophy, creating a unique bottle display, cut out of James Bond (apparently its not martini anymore for Mr.Bond he prefers Heineken now, neither shaken nor stirred)

Client : LG UHD TV Category : Brand Launch, Marketing campaign Campaign : LG Super UHD TV Launch campaign LG asked the agency to come up with a unique/interesting way to launch the Super UHD TV in Kenya. The agency presented 3 ideas which were generated based around the key USPs: Since options 1 & 2 could be combined; LG opted to mix the two out of the three proposed concepts. We decided to go all out on the Hollywood theme from premiere ticket style invites, a red carpet entrance with a life size cutout of paparazzi taking pictures of guests as well as life size cutouts of celebrities! We even had waiters dressed in smart red waistcoats similar to what cinema ushers wear during a movie premiere. In addition to all this, we created 3 experience zone rooms: a home theatre, a living room and a bar area which were using during the grand veiling with confetti and fog machines to add extra glam keeping the movie premiere theme in mind. Guests were taking photos through large branded photo frames which were then printed on the spot and instantly put into a frame and given to guests. Hiring famous radio & TV presenters Michelle & Wahiga made all the difference taking the mood of the event to another level. All in all the turnout was great and the event was a success and gave LG the visibility & mileage they needed.

Client : Econet Wireless Category : Know me, Know my number Campaign : Marketing Campaign, Digital, Print The ‘Know Me. Know My Number’ campaign from Econet was developed around the creative concept of first impressions. This campaign revolved around consumers’ ability to customise the last digits of their mobile number. Being unique is all about standing apart from the crowd and making yourself heard. The messaging itself needed to make a great first impression, one that was bold, hit hard and inspired deep curiosity. We needed a big statement to make an even bigger first impression: using ‘I AM’ hinted at a confidence, a veritable self-assuredness, that was impossible to ignore. It heightened curiosity and forced the audience to take note, and actively seek their own individuality. The line achieved what we wanted the consumer to believe in: that big statements and first impressions count, and their number could now do that for them.

Client : Swift Category : Just Swift It Campaign : Digital, Advertisingt JUST SWIFT IT is more than a campaign line. It is more than the brand promise. At it’s heart is a fully functional online tool – a utility where the consumer can really do it all, where he/she can JUST SWIFT IT, at the click of a button – www.swift. co.zw. In a first for Zimbabwe, Swift now provides a fully functional online logistical solution. Coupled with a fully integrated advertising campaign, the new site rolled out to widespread acclaim, with the project objectives being met almost immediately – namely streamlining business processes, reducing administration costs, drastically improving the customer service function, introducing the Swift Services into the Zimbabwean digital landscape, and significantly improving overall revenue.

Client : Lobels Cookies Category : The Cookie Craving Campaign : Digital, Graphic design, Branding Bold, wide-eyed, colourful and curious, and able to connect with readers and viewers immediately, the Lobels Cookie Craving Monster (and his friend the Cookie Cravling) were the stars in introducing the Lobels Cookie range’s refreshed, exciting packaging and delicious variants to the market. These cute characters crept into the audience’s hearts with appearances in the press, on TV, online and acted as mobile billboards on Lobels trucks and delivery vans, showing that the cookie craving really WILL get you anywhere!

Client : Lobels Kreamies Category : Lobels Kreamies Biscuits Campaign : Packaging, Digital, Graphic design, Branding As top quality biscuits that positively burst with flavour, the concept and assets of the Lobels Kreamies biscuits needed to complement the fun, bright, and energetic packaging, and effectively communicate the characteristics of the biscuits, flavours and packaging to the consumer. The idea was to deconstruct the look, feel and direction of the packaging, maintaining a unique ‘flavour’ in each creative execution, and evoke a multi-sensory response – a synaesthestic reaction. The objective was to create awareness and excitement around the new range, as well as capitalising on the strategic 110g pack size, which is smaller and more affordable.

Client : Rudland and George Category : What’s your RG?’. Campaign : Product trial, Marketing, Graphic design To crack the Zimbabwean market, the Rudland and George cigarette brand needed to go beyond ballsy in its communication, using evocative, personable and bold messaging to appeal to the market, creating awareness, inducing product trial, creating repeat purchases and encouraging switch behaviour. Fresh and provocative, the visual aspects of the campaign were treated with movie-like perspective, with the resultant images going totally against the market usual. The acronym RG was expanded into fresh two word statements that develop the essence and personality of the treatment, with the viewer dared with the direct challenge of ‘What’s your RG?’.

Client : Swift Category : Outdoor advertising, Marketing campagin, Graphic design Campaign : Swift Kickback As Swift Transport’s innovative CSR initiative, #Kickback was not just about Football. It was conceived to holistically support the community, in partnership with the community, as a long-term initiative, to become a self-sustaining, dynamically evolving, community program. Seeded by the distribution of 1000 soccer balls, the #Kickback initiative was initially aimed to benefit the game’s most fervent and poorest supporters – the children of Zimbabwe – and then grow further. The campaign did evolve to also involve the initiative to save the pangolin, in partnership with the Tikki Hywood Trust (more on that here). Added to a tightly executed and intriguing 30” TVC, Twitter was selected as the main content channel of the campaign, driving viewers primarily to the simple, visually pleasing, and informatively succinct website – a huge turnaround for the local market, which generally has been “Always Facebook First”. Coupled with an effective digital campaign, the entire campaign was structured to garner maximum engagement and activation.

Client : Swift Category : Marketing campaign, Outdoor advertising, Digital Campaign : No matter the size, Just Swift it! Understanding the convenience of using Swift Transport’s services and their new thrust of digital accessibility was the task of this campaign. Visually relaying this required a return to the brand’s truth, which was that they take the worry out of transportation, and whatever they are handling, they WILL deliver. Unembellished but striking images, supported by brief impactful headlines like ‘No matter the size’ and ‘Don’t sweat it’ gave the audience assurances of Swift’s capabilities. Clear one-word CTAs in all channels also directed users to take action. This message was delivered via video, press, digital (through the apt hashtag #JustSwiftIt) and outdoor channels and managed to generate vast interest in and use of Swift’s portfolio of innovative services.

Client : Cimas health and wellness Category : Press, Cinema, Digital, Social and Radio Campaign : IGo by Cimas As another market first from Cimas, a health & wellness program the likes of which has never been seen in Zimbabwe before was put in place. Specifically designed to focus on preventive health and lifestyle modification, iGO encourages members to look at key health behaviours such as increasing physical activity, improving eating habits and reducing stress levels. To promote healthier living to current and prospective members, we needed to engage with real people (rather than the ‘bodies beautiful’ out there), and who better to use in this campaign than these real people? With these considerations at the core of the creative, a carefully considered strategic campaign was rolled out across a multitude of online and offline media channels, including Press, Cinema, Digital, Social and Radio, geared towards getting consumers onto the first step of the iGo subscriber journey.
