Born in Switzerland and of Yugoslavian origin, Marko attended the Faculty of Business and Economics (HEC) at the University of Lausanne in Switzerland, acquired Swiss citizenship in his early 20s, then went on to earn an MBA from Stanford University. A pioneer in conducting on-the-ground due diligence, Marko Dimitrijevic was a trailblazing investor in highgrowth companies and markets around the globe. Over the years, Marko Dimitrijevic has invested in over 150 countries, including 120 emerging or frontier markets, and was one of the earliest Western investors in China, Russia, Indonesia, Bangladesh, and Saudi Arabia. Marko is fluent in English French, Spanish, Serbian/Croatian, and Portuguese, with proficiency in Italian and German.

A devoted philanthropist, Marko Dimitrijevic established the Stanford Graduate School of Business Emerging Markets Innovation Fund, founded the Miami Science Museum Underwater Festival, and has endowed numerous scholarships. He served on the Stanford Business School Advisory Board, the Stanford Business School Trust, the Executive Committee of the Frost Science Museum, the Pasteur Foundation, and the Investment Committee of the Adrian Arsht Center for the Performing Arts. In his creative time, Marko Dimitrijevic seeks to capture the vibrant wonders of the world as a photographer. Armed with a camera since his teenage years, Marko honed his photography skills in the field during his extensive travels throughout his career in finance. Marko’s photography has been published in numerous magazines including Alert Diver, American Photo, Islands, Seacam, and Showboats International. Marko currently resides with his family in Miami, Florida.
