WELCOME WORD We are happy to announce that we are having our Winter School of Emergency Medicine, where you can expect to expand your knowledge - the one you might not find in your textbooks. Emergency Medicine Winter School will be held in Podgorica, the We will focus on the practical training, especially on the most necessary skills in the Emergency Department; suturing, CPR, ECG interpretation, Glasgow Coma Score evaluation, preparation of a sterile surgical field, and many other manipulations and techniques that are crucial in every emergency situation.
The lectures and workshops will be held by our doctors and their assistants who will present the latest guidelines and share with us their upto-date information from their experience that is applicable in urgent situations.
We also haven’t forgot about the social program either. The Winter School will be a time for learning and having fun, doing exciting activities, making friendships, and enjoying one of the most stunning countries in Europe, where history and modern times collide to give us

WELCOME TO MONTENEGRO The picturesque country of Montenegro is a country situated in the southeastern part of Europe. Montenegro has for its neighbors the countries of Serbia to the northeast, Kosovo to the east, Albania to the southeast, Croatia to the west and Bosnia and Herzegovina to the northwest. The country of Montenegro, apart for its scenic mountains, is also known for its out-of-the-world beaches that owe their existence to the proximity that the country enjoys with the Adriatic Sea.
FACTS ABOUT MONTENEGRO - Montenegro is the first ecological country in the world. - The oldest tree in Europe lives in Montenegrin city Bar: the Old Olive Tree is over 2,000 years old. - The monastery Ostrog is one of the biggest sanctuaries in the world. It is visited by people of all religions. - Name Montenegro in Montenegrin language literally translates to ‘Black Mountain’? - There are five national parks, including Durmitor, Lovcen, Biogradska Gora, Prokletije and Skadar Lake. - Length of the sea coast is 293 km with 117 beaches. The longest beach: Velika plaža (Ulcinj) - 13 km. - The road from the beginning plateau for climbing on to the Njegos`s mausoleum is made of numerous stony stairway (from the foot up to the entrance into the mausoleum there are 461 staircases). - The Bay of Kotor region is under the protection of UNESCO due to its very rich cultural heritage.

MONTENEGRIN MEDICAL STUDENTS AND YOUNG DOCTORS MMSYD is founded in 2009. since then we are growing as an NGO in national and international levels. As proof of this, MMSYD was officially called upon by the government to organize the events and promotion of Health, we published the first student’s textbook for medical students and we are the main partner with the Montenegrin Institute for Public Health for the Prevention of AIDS program. Beside that, we traditionally organize Teddy Bear Hospital, and also promote healthy lifestyle during: World Hearth Day, World Diabetes Day, World Kidney Day.

WINTER SCHOOL PROGRAM This is a project that brings together students from all around the world interested in gaining and exchanging knowledge in the field of emergency medicine. The main theme of the winter school is emergency medicine and it consists of the following topics: Cardiopulmonary resuscitation BLS course Traumatic Brain Injury Basic surgical skills Pediatric emergencies Management of trauma patient Diverse emergencies (drowning, poisoning, hypothermia, etc.) Principles of critical medical thinking and COVID-19 outbrake

INNOVATION
The scientific part is composed of lectures, interactive seminars, practical skills and daily cases. Every student will have a chance to renew and expand his/her knowledge, as well as master new skills.On the final day with a written exam and a certificate of attendance, which is handed to each participant at a closing ceremony. The number of participants is limited for the purpose of achieving a better quality of work in small groups using an individual approach.
Based on evaluation from the last year we improved segments that we recognized as important to you, this year we will have more practical workshops!!!
ACCOMODATION First, I would like to give you few information about your place of lodging. You will all be placed in the same student flat, hotel or hostel, which are new ones and near to the venue where you will have lectures and workshops. It is also 5-10 min walking from the restaurant.
Here is gallery of accommodation . On every floor there is kitchen that you can use 24h. There`s Wi-Fi in every room and there`s no need to bring sheets and pillows or anything except some basic dishes, iron, tea pot or something like that. Also, there is a laundry room in student flat. Student flat is safe with 24h security on the front doors so no one can enter who is not living there. If there will be any changes we will let you know 30 days in advance and final accommodation will be confirmed to you.
SKI DAY We will spent 1 day of winter school in Kolašin ski center, in Kolašin city. Transportation and ski pass are included in Registration fee.
We will also visit Canyon of Morača river that day

Registration and participation fee for winter school: Due COVID-19 pandemic, if our authorities or epidemiological situation will not allow winter school organization, full fee will be refunded
Early participation fee: 400 EUR Payment until : 31st December 2020 Early participation fee including: accomodation for 6 nights and 7 days, breakfast, trip to Kolašin ski center, ski pass at ski center, workshops and lectures. Late participation fee: 550 EUR Payment from: 1st January 2021 to 1st February 2021 Late registration fee including: accomodation for 6 nights and 7 days, breakfast, trip to Kolašin ski center, ski pass at ski center, workshops and lectures.
