Everybody who visites Tirana is going to see the Et'hem Beut Mosque, the Pyramid, the National museum or going for a drink in the popular Blloku. This photo ESSAY is about the other side of Tirana, the informal city, which nobody see's. After the fall of communism in 1991 people searching for work came from all over Albania to the capital. Due a lack of houses and governmental planning, people began making their own houses illegally at the borders of the city. This self made city harbors people from the middle class to the very poor. Lively shopping streets to abonded warehouses. never boring and always Albanian. The collection of photos shares my impression of this side of the city as part of my graduation project.
