But it must have shut down, or moved, or perhaps I just don’t know how to find anything in downtown Chicago. So I wandered another block along East Randolph, and came to the corner of Millennium Park. I had read a little about the park, when I was searching the Internet looking for photo-opportunities here in Chicago, and somehow got the impression that it was roughly the same size as Manhattan’s Central Park. Hah! It’s a couple square blocks in size, and it’s mostly carefully sculptured gardens and walkways. No meadows, no huge lawns, no brambles,

no … well, you get the idea. However, there was one thing, which I had read about, but didn’t think would be worth mentioning, let alone photographing: the "Bean". It’s officially known as "Cloud Gate," designed by Anish Kapoor, and you can read more about it here. As it turns out, I wandered all over Millennium Park, took some 50+ photos, and ultimately decided that these were the only ones worth showing … So, if you visit Chicago in the near future, do let me know if there are any farmer’s markets in town; I’ve given up on the idea. And, yes, do visit Millennium Park — but don’t expect to be overwhelmed by it. But do go see the Bean: it will dazzle you.
