Your Questions About Fish For Bass From Shore
Mary asks‌
What are some good lures for inshore freshwater fishing? I will be fishing from shore, or a dock and i am wondering what are some good lures, spoons, jigs, etc fishing tackle for inshore freshwater fishing. Bass, Panfish, Catfish, Trout, Salmon, etc
LMBassFish answers: Depends what you like. For bass, Live target frogs, or Bass pro shops Sink-o worms rigged wackey style are always awsome. Texas rigging any worm will always be fun or carolina rigging a worm or chigger craw produces results aswell. Also If you use hooks with bait holders, slide a skirt onto the bait holder and texas rig a soft plastic craw for great results. Rapala Crank baits are always good te. I love the x-rap. Hope this helped

how far up a tidal river can i fish with shore rods and tackle for sea fish? i’ve been fishing a lake that has a tidal river (the stour, kent) one mile from where the river meets the sea. can i pop over and fish for the bass i’ve heard swim up?
LMBassFish answers: As soon as you fish the lake you will come under the coarse fishing rules and you will need a rod licence for a start. The lake may be pivately owned and there could be other fees to pay. Why not fish the estuary of the river where the Bass are coming in, Bass always go to freshwater outlets looking for food that may wash down…. Good luck.

Where is a good fishing spot near Orland Park IL? Need a spot near Orland Park IL to fish from shore after work. Any suggestions?, been skunked several times at Tampier, looking for a better option.
LMBassFish answers: I use to live in Orland Park and I know your frustration. I use to fish Shabona state park, a reasonable drive from OP. I caught nice walleye and bass there. If you camp (I did many times) an hour before sunset till the park close at sunset was a super time to fish. After dark I would go back to my campsite. There was a new power plant that was about to open but I ended up moving. It is just off of I-80 sorry I forget the name but you can’t miss it . . . I am guessing it was called Dresdin ? ? Good luck let me know how you do.

How can i shore fish? I am 14 and love to fish. i am looking for a few tips to help me land a nice size bass. i shore fish and use anything but live bait. i like live bait but i like the challenge of fishing. i use crank bait, soft plastics, jigs, poppers, scum frogs, and everything else. i am going to gander mountain tomorrow and i want some good baits to use and i would like to know how to use them. thanks
LMBassFish answers: I would fish all the time for Large Mouth Bass.. My best luck was casting towards a hiding spot.. The Large Mouth Bass will go after many things..I would use a Popper.. ..on my Fly Rod…or a Jitter Bug on my Spinning Reel.. Then useing certain types of LURES will actually create the size of the fish you catch.. I would use my collection of RED DEVIL Lures for that purpose.. But many types of SPOON-type lures work really good.. My Fly Rod was very good as a fishing pole.. Useing a small size Popper/I would use a Fly(Royal Coachman)–to catch BlueGills/ ..casting a lure.. Its best to be famliar with your fishing spot..look for logs..or shady area’s..it was always said to fish..after a rain storm.. Next…is too actually see the fish–lurking in the water..and target the critter.. I can remember some exact–strikes..very exciting..Large Mouth Bass..just hitting the bait.

What type of fishing reel should i use? I fish from shore but i sometimes fish from a boat. I mainly fish for largemouth bass in Blue Springs, Missouri but sometimes crappie whatever wants to bite so what should i use a spinning reel or a baitcasting reel?
LMBassFish answers: For bass, you can go with either baitcasting or spinning. A baitcaster is actually better because you can make farther and more precise casts, use heavier line, and handle bigger fish. A spinning rod would probably be better for crappie.
