list of works
Francis Bacon (1909-1992) based his prints on a selection of 35 of his paintings dating from 1955-1991. Bacon worked with French, Italian and Spanish printers, following a European tradition of artists collaborating with skilled master printers which dates back to the Renaissance. The prints were all produced under Bacon’s supervision and the artist made changes when necessary to the proofs which he then approved. 01 Oedipus and the Sphinx after Ingres, 1983 Lithograph Paper: 127.7 x 89.5 cm Image: 117 x 86 cm Edition of 150 Published by: Editions de la Difference, Paris, 1984 Printed by: Arts Litho, Paris 02 Triptych 1983, 1983 A set of three lithographs Paper: 86.2 x 60.6 cm (each) Image: 67 x 50 cm (each) Edition of 180 Published and printed by: Galerie Maeght Lelong, Paris, 1984 03 Triptych in Memory of George Dyer, 1971 (Left-hand Panel) Offset Lithograph Paper: 85.6 x 61 cm Image: 75.5 x 55.8 cm Edition of 200 Published by: Marlborough Graphics, 1976
