Coffee connection: Would like to meet for a nice coffee and chat? Join us! This month we will be meeting in two different places: 19th July– 1:30 am at Cheques Café* (Scott Street)

Sewing Group Would like to learn some basic sewing skills or share your skills? Would like to get together with others and learn how to fix simples things in your clothes? We are getting together on the 26th July for our first meeting. If you have a portable sewing machine, bring it along. You can also bring your own projects or materials. We will have one extra sewing machine available if you haven’t got one.

28nd July – 1:30pm at Marlborough House, 21 Henry Street. Afternoon tea. You are welcome to bring some home baking to share! Because will be Where: at Marlborough House, from 1:00 to 3:00pm school holiday, you are most welcome to bring Cost: $2.00 your children along. Netball One of our new migrants have approach us asking information about Netball. This is a sport that is not played in many countries, but here in New Zealand, it is very popular. Ladies, if you are interested in joining a group to learn how to play Netball, please contact us for more information. At this stage, we just want to find out how many people are interested, so if you are, please let me know as soon as possible. This is a great way to keep fit and also learn about New Zealand sports. Hope to hearing from you soon!

If you have any other ideas for activities and get-togethers please let us know we can put together as many regular activity groups as you would like! (Such as a craft group, book or movie group, short trips, etc.)

Other information and activities around Marlborough: Do you want to update your computer skills? Skills Update Training Institute is running a computer course (Certificate in Computer Technology Level 2) based at NMIT campus. The course is free for NZ residents and you can start any time. They also offer retail training from free. Maybe this could be a way to get you a job in a shop. For more information, please call 578-0215 Ext 587 or email peter@skillsupdate.co.nz

English Language Partners (ESOL): If you are new to Marlborough and need to improve your English, English Language Marlborough offers some options for migrants who are not permanent residents yet.  Social English Class – Saturday from 4:00 to 6:00pm at Marlborough House (21 Henry Street).
