Dear Colleague
It is that time of year to review your benefits and make changes for the upcoming 2022 plan year. Human Resources and the Health Care Task Force (a team made up of staff and faculty representatives) have been working hard throughout this year to evaluate current and new programs that provide the best outcomes and value for our employees. As a result, we are pleased to share news of enhancements to the 2022 benefit offerings. More details about these programs are included in this guide and on the Human Resources website, with key highlights featured on pages 5-6. Most notably, we are happy to report that although medical insurance costs continue to increase for the Plan, you will see NO INCREASE to the employee premium rates for medical, dental and vision coverage for 2022. The effective management and optimization of our Total Rewards vendors and programs allowed the university to absorb the 2022 premium increase into the operating budget. Please also note information in this guide about Marquette’s partnership with a new wellness provider, added resources for plan members with chronic health conditions and enhanced voluntary benefit offerings such as an accident insurance plan and life insurance coverage options for your spouse and children.
With these exciting changes for 2022, it is important for you to take time to carefully review the coverage options available and choose the one that best meets your (and your family’s) needs. Although you don’t need to re-enroll unless you are making a change to your plan options or family members covered, you must recertify your spouse’s access status to other medical coverage to avoid the $100/month spousal surcharge. You also must reenroll to participate in FSA or HSA accounts for 2022.
Once again, the Benefit Educators will be available this year, including evening appointment times, to help you through your decision-making process. Sincerely,
Total Rewards of Working at Marquette University
