Since it’s the hub for all undergraduate research, you’ll be spending a lot of time at Raynor. So start by researching which of our 15 study areas are most comfortable.

HARTMAN LITERACY AND LEARNING CENTER The Hartman Literacy and Learning Center is home to the Family Literacy Project, and it’s where you can help kids from inner-city Milwaukee learn to read. It’s a unique and rare opportunity to work in literacy education. And even though that experience will make your resume stand out from the rest, you’ll be even better qualified when you participate in faculty research on the most effective ways to teach literacy.

THE OPUS COLLEGE OF ENGINEERING, the NAVY ROTC program and the service opportunities in Milwaukee are what drew Taylor to Marquette. SWIM CLUB helps Taylor improve his swimming skills. It’s also where he’s made a great group of friends.

PREPARED Taylor plans to be a Navy Seal working in the Middle East, and he’s getting the practical skills he needs to be prepared, by participating in PROJECT GLOBAL OFFICERS, an accelerated learning program. Taylor spent two summers in Oman and says it’s the“best way to learn Arabic.”

We begin reviewing applications in September and send decisions out two to three weeks after the application is complete. Our recommended deadline is DECEMBER 1. Applying by this date will guarantee you a decision by the end of the year and the chance to be fully informed about special scholarships and spring visits.

PERSONAL REVIEW PROCESS When your application is reviewed, someone is actually reading it carefully. The work that you put in is noticed, so take the time to do it well. Your transcript is considered holistically. We look at the rigor of your curriculum, the trends in your grades, and any supplemental information you provide to give context. List your activities and describe them. We’re very active here at Marquette, and we value how active you’ve been as well.
