January 16, 2009 Dear SIFE USA teams: I would like to invite you to join SIFE and the Campbell Soup Company in our efforts to fight hunger in America by participating in the 2009 Let’s Can Hunger Challenge. The special competition is judged by Campbell and is open to all SIFE USA teams. We challenge you to create projects that generate awareness about hunger in the U.S. and provide hunger relief in your communities. The Challenge consists of the following three competitions and criteria: • Hunger Awareness Campaign: Teams will be judged on how effectively their SIFE team developed and executed marketing and public relations activities to raise awareness in their community about the significance of the hunger problem in the US. • Hunger Relief Competition: Teams will be judged on how effectively their SIFE team work ed to organize and implement food drives in their community and measured total non-perishable food items donated (or cash equivalent). • Business Plan Contest: Teams will be judged on how effectively their SIFE team created a plan for the 2009-2010 SIFE program year to raise Hunger Awareness and Relief in their community to ultimately assist hunger victims. • The projects must meet one or more of the 7 SIFE criteria.
