Portland Coast Fascinated by this rocky coastline, local artist Leon Dore was determined to find a less figurative and more authentic response to its unique mixture of Mesolithic geology, quarrying, natural rock fall and erosion. David Brooke David Brooke’s paintings create a sense of mystery. Although events are taking place within his paintings, sometimes it is unclear exactly what is happening. There clearly is a narrative, but it is left to the viewer to decide the nature of that narrative, to develop their own stories, their own responses and their own sense of mystery and adventure.
