SINGLE FAMILY HOUSE IN MALLORCA
SINGLE FAMILY HOUSE IN MALLORCA
NAU
This private house, designed by the firm Nau Architecture i Urbanisme, was the difficulty of client requirements. The shape and structure are marked by the style, design and demand of the owner. Tieing the design and structure was not an easy task. The structure is metallic, because the design of the shape and needed. The facade is a mixture of two ceramic, black and white stones, as design composition. My main work in this project was the design and draw planes with 3D modeling and 3D views for the client to understand their new home. The biggest challenge was to coordinate stone colors with the different volumes of the house.

The residential complex ‘Torre Camp de Mar’ is an innovative high ‘standing’ housing proposal. To obtain a energy rating A for all projected properties it prioritizes the design criteria and sustainability, not only at the architectural level but also at levels of energy and environmental sustainability of domestic hot water, heating and air conditioning, as well as in water management. From the architectural point of view, selecting and using the best building materials, fixtures and insulation design as well as orientation of the apartments, in order to get the required results. In terms of energy, by producing energy with the installation of biomass boilers, heat pumps for air conditioning. This operation is performed with geothermal wells and solar photovoltaic installation, which provides electricity to the engine room; it thereby seeks to use the energy of natural elements. Environmentally, by creating outdoor gardens with Mediterranean species similar to the ones already planted and irrigation systems that use recovered rainwater. The economic energy saving as well as the total commitment to the environment have been the principles of the sustainable housing construction. It combines design and technology to serve the environment, in order to archive a close to zero consumption of energy. With the implementation of intelligent energy networks (smart-grids) it incorporates, as explained above, advanced environmental aspects in construction that allow us to reduce the emission of CO2 to the atmosphere, being respectful towards the environment. The residential complex Torre Camp de Mar has a total of 33 apartments of 6 different types spread over 10 different blocks. These apartments are designed with two or three bedrooms distributed in living areas from 85m2 to 180m2. The projection of each of the types of housing has been designed for maximum comfort for the future owner while maintaining a commitment to the environment that allows us to have the highest energy rating and therefore uses much less energy. The residential complex Torre Camp de Mar is located in the village of Camp de Mar, belonging to the municipality of Andratx. This municipality is located in the south-west of the Sierra Tramuntana, a privileged place within the island of Mallorca. The plots that will be built in Torre Camp de Mar are in the Cami d’es Salinar, set on the seafront, bordering the beach and it has a magnificent golf course at the back. In this area there are residential homes as well as holiday homes and buildings.

FOUR IDEAS Having the challenge of the work of the architect Arthur Erickson, we get into the design of the Simon Fraser University Plaza pavement and landscaping. We proposed 16 different pavement designs, taking care of the history of the University first design and innovating with modern and different precedents. After voting and considering different aspects for the new pavement, we designed a pattern emphasizing the original tartan pattern and the important spaces like squares, with the diversity and ascension of colors, giving to the University, called a Brutalist Acropolis, a light ascension and playful renewal space.

CULTURAL CENTER IN PALAMOS
CULTURAL CENTER IN PALAMOS
FINAL THESIS
The new volume of the project responds to the demand of the city to build a cultural center that adapts to the site because, with patios, it helps to create a route with dilations and light’s entries in the building, saving the changes in level of the site . In this way, the project walks with the existing urba scene, emphasizing the cataloged existing buildings and creating new public spaces in the project that give a sensitivity to this area of Palamos.
