La cantera mixed - use development SAN ANTONIO, TEXAS
PROJECT INFORMATION La Cantera is a Mixed-Use project located in San Antonio, Texas. It consists of 360 residential units, retail space and amenities. From the rooftop, Six Flags can be seen as the eager rides go up a hill. To the west of the site there is the La Cantera Shopping and Restaurant District. This project was my first multi-family assignment. I joined the team at the beginning of SD phase. Working closely with the Project Architect and Project Manager we developed a complex skin design to reflect a Mediterranean look as well as break up the fascade by ususing touwnehouse concept. The team consisted of Project Architect, Project Manager and myself. I worked with the PA to develop the elevations, plans and the whole 3D model in Revit. My efforts concentrated on Main Plans, Unit Plans, Unit Elevations, Main Elevations and Material Selection, Details and Construction Documents.

During the CA process, I managed Newforma files and communications between the Contractor and the Consultants while answering any questions the contractor had. I also reviewed Submittals, answered RFI’s and issued ASI’s during this process. I was able to visit the site on one occasion where I discussed the paint selections with the owner. This was a very exciting and challenging project to work on due to the variations in the facade. Because the skin shifted every few feet we ended up with over 90 unit types which made the CD process very important in making sure we carefuly recorded all the information extremely accurate. This building is nearly complete and I look forward to visiting the site when all the beautiful units are furnished and ready for their new tenants.

Lift Wellness Center was my first project when I came on to the LRK team. Our team consisted of Project Architect, Project Manager and myself. This was my first introduction to Revit and without time for training I was learning on the job. I worked on this project from SD phase all the way untill Construction was complete. The project manager and I were the only ones develoing the plans, details, 3D model and everything in between. My main concentration was in plans, elevations, detail assistance, material selections and assisting Interiors with their work. I also managed the CA process with my PM.

7 East is a a Multi Family Project of 299,684 s.f. in Austin, Texas that include 186 residential units. I joined the team during the DD Phase of the project and my main concentration was in developing unit plans and elevations from the basic placeholders that were pulled from another project. I stayed on the team during the CD phase and at the end helped out with other portions that included renderings, detail work on elevations and main plans as well as doing the COMP CHECK.

I jointed the team during the DD process as the PA thought I might be able to bring in my experience with the units on board. This project was completely done in AutoCAD and since I have worked in Revit only prior to this it was a new experience for me. I helped develop the DD and CD package and my main focus was on building plans, unit plans, unit elevations and details. Because of the building structure and the low budget we had to find creative ways to save space and make sure the tenants could find their home here.
