The aim of the project is to create a new factory building – Air Liquide. Air Liquide is a French chemical company with its registered office in Paris, specialising in the production of industrial gases. A pyramid was the inspiration for the project. It has a universal form and that is why it can be built in any place in the world - in a city, on a meadow or on a dessert. Pyramids have always intrigued people; they constitute a coherent but dynamic, majestic and mysterious form. The body of a pyramid is frequently used by modern architects. A pyramid constitu -

They are made of nanotubes which, under the influence of production processes and solar energy, will give subtle light in two colours. The structure will give orange light when oxygen is produced in the factory and blue when nitrogen is produ ced. Thanks to that, the building should be compatible with the product. An important aspect of the structure is its openwork. It does not completely cover the production part of the building. The steel net allows for an insight

A project of a modern loggia, an exhibition building and a painting square located between Karmelicka and Dolnych Mlynow Streets. On the square, there will be LED displays showing films on works of the greatest Polish painters, such as Jan Matejko, Stanisław Wyspiański, J.Mehoffer and J.Malczewski. The multimedia form combines the past and the future. The main aim of the project was to create a public area that would become a place for meetings. The loggia is constructed from a steel frame structure. The structure consists of triangles, which alternately create a green or a glass screen. The body of the loggia was created in such a way that it is adjusted to the height of the tenement houses, beside which it is situated. The exhibition building on Dolnych Młynów Street has a minimal cuboidal form from the exterior, which constitutes a closure of the designed square. It is also in contrast to the sculptural form of the loggia. The eastern and southern elevations are covered with architectonic white concrete, on which there is a black raster in a form of circles. Their main task is to draw attention and somehow attract visitors to come to the interior of the building.

The main aim of the project was to make the house fit the landscape that surrounds it. The object had to fulfil the following conditions: • It had to be ecological, • Energy-efficient, • Flexible, • Economical. The house has been built from natural materials that are available on the local market: wood, ceramics, granite, glass, aluminium and concrete. It is located in Rawa Mazowiecka, directly over a bay. It is a two-storey patio house without basement. From the north, there is a technical part of the house with a garage for two cars. The living room of the house is fully open to the surrounding landscape. It glazed from the south – to make it open to the bay, from the west – open to the forest and from the north – open to the patio. Such amount of glass in our climate requires roller shutters to be installed in order to protect it from the sun. The house is also equipped in air conditioning and a heating system for the window panes on the roof, so that they are not weighed down by snow in winter. An element, that directly joins the interior with the garden, is the floor. There is a pier in the living room, which goes out to the patio. On the first floor, there is a recreational part of the building. What is characteristic about the project is the elevations, which somehow resemble the forest. The shape of the windows resembles trees surrounding the house.

The aim of the design was to create a new public space and housing estate, which will perfectly fit the monumental urban surrounding and fulfil the needs and expectations of residents of Cracow in the 21st century. It is supposed to be a functional area, which is friendly to the environment and people. The estate is supposed to grant high living standards and give residents and passers-by an interesting public space with zones. Another important aspect of the project is revitalisation of Vistula’s boulevards which were subject to degradation and left unattended due to their vicinity to declining post-military areas. One of the advantages of this area is the great number of green areas, which give the place undeniable potential. The main and joining element of the whole concept is green spaces. They decide about the form and structure of buildings and divide the estate into 5 basic zones: • the first zone constitutes mainly of housing architecture of block and linear area developments with a kindergarten in the northern part and a dance academy in the southern part of the area, near Vistula’s boulevards, • the second zone constitutes of linear development of an irregular shape. Green areas in this zone have a biomorphic form of elevations, which constitute social space for the residents. The hills are surrounded by benches, on the one hand, and with water flowing down the walls, on the other. It all constitutes a recreational space, which is human-friendly, • the third zone constitutes of public space area development: a music centre, a hotel – the dominating element, which refers to Cracovia Business Centre with its height; there is also an office, a gym, a cinema and a hostel. • The fourth zone consists of big urban blocks, the irregular shape of which results from green spaces. Each residential building has a passage located on the ground floor, which connects the buildings and consti-

tutes a walking path for the residents; • The fifth zone closes the remaining ones and goes back to the traditional ruled urban fabric. There is a school, a kindergarten and a housing estate consisting of two tower blocks and a block complex. In the eastern part of the area, which is divided by a railway, there are areas, on which there is a dormitory complex. It has the form of a megastructure focused around the internal patio, where there are two cafeterias, tennis courts and a garden. This solution is supposed to be beneficial for the integration of students and it is supposed to provide them with appropriate conditions for studying and relaxing. The building, that is directly adjacent to the boulevards, comprises a swimming pool and a sports centre, beside which there is a residential estate in a shape of the reverse letter C, with a view to the river. The area located directly by Ofiar Dąbia Street is closed with several office buildings. The Vistula’s boulevards will gain a new form and function. They will be divided into three parts. The first of them is a dam with a walking and cycle path. The second one is a system of hills starting at the dam and extending through the whole width of the designed area of the boulevards. They will be the main attraction of the area, together with a skate park and playgrounds or they may just become a place to sit at for a while and relax. The third part consists of stairs functioning as benches, which lead to the lowest level of the public space by Vistula.
There will also be a fitness trail with an outdoor gym. An additional factor, that is supposed to give new life to the boulevards and the whole area, is commercial buildings and cafeterias on the ground floors. The aforementioned green zones will attract new users to the exterior of the area and they will create a system shaping the structure of buildings with the aim of creating interesting outdoor perspectives.

The subject of the project is a shopping mall in Myslenice. The main aim of the project was to fit the building into its surrounding landscape, and at the same time, to attract customers. The structure of the object refers to a five-metre downslope located on the plot. To create the design of the building structure, I used that irregularity and created a green roof and a ramp that leads to it. Thanks to that, the fifth elevation may be used by the customers as a place for meetings in a cafeteria located at the top of the building. Such form of the building provides an appropriate level of green spaces. The south-western front elevation is fully glazed, thanks to which it invites people to come in. In the western elevation, there
is an arcade, going along the shop windows, while on the west, there is a unloading ramp and an entrance to storehouses. The interior is open thanks to an opening in the roof, which make it possible for the customers to see higher floors. The opening form is repeated by the skylight. On the first floor, there are shops, while on the second floor, there are catering facilities. Cafeterias and restaurant can use a terrace in the spring and summer season. On the last floor, there are office spaces, which are unavailable for the customers. The building is constructed from a reinforced concrete frame structure. The spans between the columns are 800 and 600m.
What is characteristic for this design is the elevations made of patinated copper, on which an aluminium net was applied. From the south-western side, there are glazed facades going along the whole building. The northern and southern elevations comprise of a green wall, which joins the ramp leading to the roof and which constitutes the eastern elevation. The building combines ecological design by using natural downslopes of the terrain, green walls and the fifth elevation covered with grass with the latest high-tech materials – steel, glass, aluminium net and patinated copper on the elevation.

A project of a media library and a students’ club localised in Cracow. The plot is located in the direct centre of the city, just a few hundred metres from the Main Square. Before designing public spaces, one should analyse the existing state of affairs, conduct site exploration, explore its functional structure, cultural context, communication condition, occurring social and economic process etc. The key task is to give the building an identity and atmosphere of the place. The “Media Library” is a building designed for students. It is a space, in which they will be able to organise workshops, exhibitions and lectures as well as a place, where they will be able to get ready for exams (the reading room). There is also a place for entertainment (the cafeteria). The building is supposed to serve as a place for interpersonal integration. The building is situated opposite the Jagiellonian University and the Theatre Academy and that is why it will be a perfect place to go to between classes. Functional and compositional conditions of the area and its surroundings were taken into consideration when designing the project. Important elements of a public building include a high level of aesthetics, well-thought and comprehensive composition and geometry – those are the places that are always more frequently used than those without a clear form. From the exterior, the building has a modern form, which resembles the adjacent tenement houses. Important elements of this location include Colegium Novum and the Planty Park’s vicinity. Their vicinity has a direct reflection on the elevations. The elevations consist of sandstone panes, which appear as if they are “flowing down” the elevations like a cascade. Thanks to that, the building seems to be light and is not competitive to the representative building of the Jagiellonian University. Between the sandstone panes, there is a green wall system, which makes a reference to the Park. The Media Library ‘s structure emphasises the corner by its round shape and the height, which result from the need to adjust the building to adjacent tenement houses. The ground floor is slightly recessed, which makes the designed building look light and attract passers-by to enter the building. In the interior, there is a glazed atrium, which is the garden of the cafeteria. Its location results from the windows located in neighbouring house. The atrium, thanks to its form, constitutes the main decorative element, which makes a reference to the tradition of the place – there are galleries on higher stores. Rounded lamps are the main element of the interior. They give warm light and emphasise the rounded corner. On the first floor, there is the reading room and an open exhibition space. It is a place where you can learn, spend your time watching a film or organise any kind of workshops or meetings. The way of using this space may be adjusted to the current needs of students. On the second floor, there is a lecture hall almost one hundred square metres, where concerts may be organised from time to time. The third floor is designed for administration purposes.
