Who am I? Introduction:

Personal goals:

I am born and rased in North of Norway, in a town called Tromsø. I’m 23 years old, and I live in Denmark as I moved here to fulfill my passion of becoming a designer.

• I want to make products which can be used for helping people to a better way of living.

My interests beside design and being creative are outdoor activities like fishing, skiing and in general enjoying the nature in the summer and the winter. It gives me strength, motivation and inspiration to be in the surrondings of the nature.

• I want to stimulate peoples vision by making designs that are appealing and attractive. • I want to try as much as posible to expand and develope my skills, and most of all never stop learning. • I want to be the best person I can be, as happy as I can be and most of all I want to be responsible, take action and try my very best as a designer.

“The Axe” A six week project in cooperation with the music house, Åge Jensen.

An electric guitar with inspiration from Rock music. The guitar has a retro style that relates to the rock’n roll look. The designprosess and the model building was equally weighted.

The guitar was exibited at Kolding Libary in september\october 2008.

Inspirational moodboard.

Three concept scetches.

Modelbuilding

When building the guitar I made a big effort in making it perfect. I wanted the lines sharp but in a way so it was flowing with the rest of the curves on the guitar. On the back of the guitar the form curves so it layes in to the body of the one playing.

“Flow” A four week group project with one other industrial design student. We have made a redesign of the outdoor guarden chair. It is a project based on sustainability and how to make designs from a sustainable point of view. We had some goals we wanted to achieve when designing “Flow”. It had to have a simplicity in the shape of the chair, quality, longlasting, produced in Denmark, and it had to be recyclable.

Sketching

When sketching we tought about the traditional Trip Trap “Draghtman chair, and tryed to do something new with it. As we were sketching we felt the urge to make a chair that were more simple, easy and modern.

Some research and inspirational moodboards.

This is a wheel where we analysed our new product compared with the old one.

“LiRo-3 A six week group project with 5 groupmembers. This is a project about sustainability, robotics and outdoor lighting. We have made a robot character that is suppose to roam around in the city at night. You are able to awake his curiosity by shining a light at him which he will feel compelled to approach. When you have attracted him you are then able to play with him or have him follow you around by illuminating your path. LiRo-3 will start out being an exhibition peace, which you can come and interact with within an enclosed area, the exhibition moves around to different cities. Liro-3 is made of sustainable materials: plastic, rubber, copper and filt. He has Legomindstorm motors and LEDlights inside.

Bringing fantasy to the city.

Modelbuilding

When making Liro we thought first of all of the interaction between the robot and the person. We wanted to tell a beautiful story. When designing him we wanted to make him very appeling, sweet and innocent because of his role of making people feel safe at night. We did not want him to look so far away from the robotlook, so we made him a bit rough when building him. In that way we toned down the qute look a bit.

“North I have made a sustainable pendel inspired by the light in the North of Norway. The lamp is designed to light up the living room area. The lamp creates a worm, comfortable lighting, even the materials are quite cold. The light is difused when lighting down, while at the same time it lights up and to the sides. It is also posible to dim the light so it can adapt after need. Materials: Acrylic, aluminium and steel wires. Lightsource: Energy saving light bulb. Megaman 15 watt.

The lamp was exibitd in Profil Optik, Kolding, in December 2008.

My wish for this project was to make a pendel that was pompous and a bit out of the ordenary, but still a lamp that was classic in it’s own way.

This was a quick analyse of where I wanted the light to shine. This was cursial for finding the form and design of the pendel.

“Making Nokianess visible” A four week group project with an interactive media student, in cooperation with Nokia (Copenhagen department).

Nokia is the worlds biggest brand on the mobiletelephone market. They produce 16 mobilephones a second! 75% of people globally, do not think about recycling their mobilephone. 50 % do not even know it’s posible to recycle it. And in the end only 3 % recycle their mobilephone. Nokia are doing a lot for the environment, and they have several help projects both local and global. People do not know this. The issue about recycling old mobilephones is not adressed enough, and the user is uninformed. This is a 4 week project about making “Nokianess” more visible, and making people more aware of how to recycle their old phones in an easy and instant way. By changing something small, you can make a big difference!

Final model

The project ended up with being a sustainable sticker that follows inside your mobilephone, and containes information in 3 layers.

HOW TO RECYCLE ? “By working together, small individual actions could add up to make a big difference.”

If you recycle your old mobile phone, materials within it can be reused to help make new products such as kitchen kettles, park benches, dental fillings or even saxophones and other metal musical instruments.

“CARDIO” A six week group project, in cooperation with Dong Energy.

The core of the service is about saving time. By having an overview over the charging status of the electric car, you can make good use of the time the car needs while charging, as this could be more efficient. As the service is now, you have to keep an eye on your car when it’s charging in public, in order to know when it is done charging and ready for you to drive further. We found this a stress factor and we wanted to change this by giving the user more time and more control. Another aspect of the concept is that we made it more personal and easy to have the car charging in a public space.

The project is being exibited at the World Climate Conference 2009, in Copenhagen. A project movie is currently being made by Martin StrangeHansen, a danish Oscar Winning director.

We have made a symbol/token for the cars battery status which is placed in front, next to the driver, in the car. This token is a symbol for the heart of the car (battery). It is pulsating (with a soft light) when it’s placed inside the car, and it’s pulsating faster when driving faster, and slower when driving slower to establish an awareness over the speed. The Cardio is a product that the user is supposed to have with her/him when using the charging time away from the car. The token shows how far the charging has come and the time thats left, by lighting a stripe of strong light fading out to no or weak light.

Final consept scenario Mom, what is this?

We made a lot of scenarios while brainstorming both by scteches, mock ups and movies. This is the final consept movie shown as a scenario. This is a “Cardio”. It tells us how much power we are using.

Hmm.. It’s like your heart. When you are running, your heart is beating faster as well.

What do you mean?

Now the “Cardio” is relaxing, because the car is stopping.

Now it’s beating faster again, because we are speeding up and using more energy.

The heart has stopped beating now because i need to take it out and bring it to the mall

When will the car wake up again?

The “Cardio” shows that there is a little time left before the car is ready.

Mabe we can go get an icecream while waiting?

Now the user is in control over his/her time in a very easy and personal way. Also the user is in touch with the car even when beeing away from it.
