Viola Frey Bio 1933—2004 Viola Frey was born in 1933 in Lodi, California, and died in Oakland, California, in 2004. She does ceramic sculpture and pottery as well as different types of art. Frey was one of the only sculpture artists in the 1900’s.

Viola Frey Critique Viola Frey is a really good artist and her sculptures are really good. I appreciate her artwork and I believe she is one of the best artists. She makes clay sculptures which are larger than life, which is incredibly hard and amazingly beautiful.
Joe Mangrum Bio Joe Mangrum’s sand paintings are public showcases the streets and are social arts. He started in 2006, and now uses the art to transport people through time and space. He also does some sculpturing with day to day materials you can find easily in local stores.

Wayne Thiebaud Bio Wayne Thiebaud was born in Mesa, Arizona. He moved to Long Beach, California when he was six years old. He also spent a number of years living on a ranch in Utah. He likes comics and he eventually started making serious art.

Christopher Brown Bio When Brown was 13, his family moved to Illinois. His father was the director in student-health at the University of Illinois in Champaign-Urbana. Brown majored in painting. After he graduated 1973, he went to art school at the University of California at Davis. It included Thiebaud, Wiley, Roy De Forest, Robert Arneson, Manuel Neri and Roland Peterson. At Davis, Brown began to think seriously about the concept of Pop Art in Great Britain as well as in America.
