The room isn’t fully set yet–we had the models dancing on the tables!” Tony, our Marketing Director, said, as he waltzed through the space before the event, overseeing the photoshoot before guest arrival. It was a party indeed at Jamie Malone’s newest dining experience, Petite Atelier. With her internationally-recognized talent and a menu crafted to perfection, this intimate dinner was the perfect March escape from unrelenting gray skies. While Petite Atelier has been given extensive coverage in the last few months, this is one of the first times

Malone has welcomed this type of collaboration into Petite Atelier. In a perfect blend of color and creativity, we were thrilled to showcase La DoubleJ with both their clothing and chic dining sets, which were hand-selected by Jamie when creating her revolutionary dining concept.

The evening opened before us like a budding spring flower, inviting creativity, laughter, and a healthy flow of handcrafted cocktails served by the models themselves. With Petite Atelier’s showstopping chandelier glittering in candlelight and the hum of good conversation, it was the coziest way to welcome spring to Minneapolis with the community.

hen curating collections for MartinPatrick 3, a brand’s perfection of its craft is at the top of our list. A bit of cheeky fun is always welcome, too.

From the start, ISAIA has encapsulated both of these values and much more. The menswear brand was founded in Naples in the 1920s by Enrico Isaia, who opened a fabrics store for the most renowned tailors in town. In later years, Enrico set up a small workshop next to the store, where skilled craftsmen made tailor-made men’s clothing. From there, ISAIA has risen to become one of the most respected menswear brands in the world, known for the highest quality tailoring on every piece still handmade in Naples, Italy. We had the chance to sit down with Gianluca Isaia, the son of Enrico and CEO of ISAIA to learn more about the Neopolitan spirit behind the brand.

MP3: One of the elements that make ISAIA a leader in

quality menswear is your attention to detail and commitment to the craft. As you’ve expanded, why is it so important that every piece is still handmade in Casalnuovo di Napoli?

GI AN LUCA: When my grandfather moved the business to

Casalnuovo in the 1950s, half of the residents were tailors by profession! Even today, it is still very easy to find young people that want to learn this art and that have this passion in their blood.

MP3: In a previous interview, you discussed keeping the

Neopolitan sensibility with you while traveling, saying, “I enjoy wearing my canonical coral red leather flip flops even with a formal suit and wherever I am in the world. They unfailingly give me the illusion of being in my beloved Capri.” How can Americans, Minnesotans in particular with their short summers, embrace the Italian lifestyle in their everyday wardrobe?

AN INTERVIEW WITH GIANLUCA ISAIA

M P3 : Tell us what inspired ISAIA to create water-repellent

Aqua Fabrics, including reinvented wool, cashmere, and silk. We especially love how one of the perks mentioned is that...

“Your tuxedo will stay dry, even if a cocktail is thrown in your face.” (Tuxedo pictured here on Nicolò Caimi , Italian wakeboard champion).

G IA NLUC A : We wanted something that made a garment suitable for any occasion and weather but didn’t want to give up the impeccable quality of ISAIA fabrics. Informed by function, inspired by tradition, and designed by leading modern technology, the AQUA series has long been the prime example of ISAIA’s dedication to fabric innovation. Precious fabrics such as wool, cashmere, and silk are thus treated at the yarn level to resist water and stains. They are both luxurious and useful. M P3 : ISAIA has stores across the world with iconic interior

design and nods to classic Neopolitan traditions, like red coral, which represents good luck. How do you want someone to feel when stepping into your space, or putting on an ISAIA piece?

G IA NLUC A : Our stores are the place where we’d like anyone to feel at home. Modernity and tradition mix to create a space that is both unexpected and surprising but at the same time warm and welcoming. In each element, you find Napoli, from the colors to the decors that allow you to live an immersive experience. The heart of each boutique is represented by the iconic Vesuvius room, and the unmissable red lacquered piano, one of the favorite pieces of all customers. Entering an ISAIA store means living an experience. Many come in just to have a drink, play the piano, and chat with the staff. The purchase becomes almost secondary.

GI AN LUCA: The Italian – and in particular the Neapolitan

– lifestyle is not necessarily linked to summer. ISAIA is contemporary tradition, we have the right mix of innovation and tradition capable of satisfying the tastes of men of all ages and of all countries. Inside the Isaia collection, there is everything: elegance, leisurewear, upper casual… I always say that there are no fixed rules for dressing well. The important thing is to feel comfortable in what you wear. You shouldn’t copy someone’s style but instead, look for your own. We’ll be here to help you find it!

With room to lounge among the beautiful clothing and playful touches throughout, ISAIA is a brand after our own hearts. To snag your own cocktail-proof suit and learn more about ISAIA, visit MartinPatrick 3.

he Loupe offers the finest selection of luxury jewelry in the Twin Cities, featuring thoughtfully purveyed pieces and a shopping experience that is curated with an exquisite level of detail. In addition to curating a collection from designers across the world, The Loupe is proud to showcase one of the industry’s finest American designers in our space, carrying both their cornerstone pieces and a selection of timeless lifestyle pieces. Meet Hoorsenbuhs, established in 2005. With a tri-link chain motif inspired by the anchor of a 16th-century ship captained by Robert Keith’s ancestor, Hoorsenbuhs is world-renowned for creating pieces that represent strength, quality, and continuous opulence. This unbreakable motif can be found in every piece, representing longevity and designed with the intention to become your next modern heirloom, treasured for generations to come. Every inch of their Santa Monica flagship space has been curated by the lead designer Keith, who created the space in partnership with longtime friend and Brand Director Kether Parker. Since its inception, Hoorsenbuhs has been

creating weighty, unisex pieces sported by everyone from Sir Elton John to Jay-Z, who created a custom holiday collection with the brand in 2013 in partnership with Barney’s New York. While the tri-link design is their most recognizable,

Hoorsenbuhs has expanded their high level lifestyle pieces with a rock-and-roll edge that are designed to truly be lived in.

Their showroom is filled with handmade pieces that have been meticulously curated by Keith, including custom seating, wallpaper, and more. The flagship store alone is worth a visit to Santa Monica. Fortunately, The Loupe offers the experience of Hoorsenbuhs craftsmanship and timeless style you can try for yourself in our very own neighborhood. Join us on June 24th and 25th for the Hoorsenbuhs Summer Trunk Event, featuring an expanded collection of jewelry and lifestyle accessories. You’ll have the opportunity to meet with a Hoorsenbuhs ambassador and shop a variety of unique pieces available only for a limited time. For more details, visit theloupempls.com.

With leisure and travel in mind, the brand has become a quiet force in the fashion industry by reimagining staple pieces. By giving everything from their white tee to custom leatherware a subversive edge, Hoorsenbuhs defies trends and ensures you’ll have a go-to for years to come. That is to say, a t-shirt with a touch of accent jewelry has never looked so effortlessly chic.

armhouse Story embodies what we strive for in a host. Warm, gracious, and always revolutionizing ways to make the guest experience highly personalized.

A former Target Home Design Director, Jason Berke created Warmhouse Story with the intention of bringing his maximalist vision to life by hosting warmly, living beautifully, and creating unforgettable moments. Bringing his design elements to life in our space was a natural partnership, especially for a season centered around indulgence and care. In a space where curiosity is rewarded and style is limitless, this February, we welcomed a custom Warmhouse Story experience to MartinPatrick 3. Jason created a celebration of love and romance that captivated all five senses. With color-changing Tattersall Distilling cocktails, a dreamy floor-to-ceiling dried floral installation, and an array of elements to envelop the senses, it was a delectable way to escape the evening’s snowstorm. In addition to sips and shopping, Warmhouse Story hosted a Charcuterie Board Workshop for a selection of locals looking for inspiration to reimagine this hosting favorite. With Jason’s love of flora and fauna, elements of nature were effortlessly blended into the boards with edible dried florals and photo-worthy hors d’Oeuvres arrangements. “I thought this class would be intimidating, but Jason was so welcoming and prepared that it allowed us to truly focus on learning and experimenting,” one attendee noted as she savored in the spoils of the spread she’d just created. The evening was an intimate and heartfelt way to celebrate Valentine’s Day–just what the Love Doctor ordered.

M O D E R N VINE YA RD ESCAPE

N

estled in the red clay of Willamette Valley with sweeping views of the mountain ranges, this modern vineyard escape was born. Our client came to us with a vision of bringing exceptional craftsmanship and functionality to a family home meant to last generations. We sat down with Greg and the MartinPatrick 3 Interior Design team to discuss the magic that went into building this detail-rich vineyard home.

Tell us about this project and what the client was looking for in this home. The house was built on property that was part of the family’s vineyards. They wanted to build a family home that would become a legacy within the estate. The goal was to create something that would blend into the land, but have a stroke of modernity that stands out among the Tuscan-feeling vineyard.

Where did you draw influences and inspiration from for the spaces? We asked the question, “How can we make this home function in the most elegant way?” The client is very worldly and is well-traveled, so with all of his exposure, there were certain elements that he wanted to evoke–luxury without being pretentious. Throughout the home, we prioritized a high degree of design and detail, a high level of finish and execution, and craftsmanship.

WRITTEN BY: EMMA GEARY

Was there anything unique about the creative process for this project? In this project, we presented the client images that were meant to solicit a reaction from them, to help define what they saw in the house, too. There’s always a new sense of discovery, and so there were a lot of deep dives into questions like, “What does that space feel like to you?” Everything has something special about it, but it all flows together. It took a lot of dropping ideas in front of them to get a reaction before developing each space to develop the overall personality of the home.

What was your biggest priority throughout the design process?

ventilation, electrical systems, and fire in advance of starting the home, which made our design process much easier. They left us a clean palette to design within and the luxury of not having to work around another trades hiccups.

What is your favorite feature of the home and why? It’s tough to pick a favorite. What made this a particularly fun project was the client’s affection for quality. They wanted to do everything in the best way possible and not cut corners. Everything is the real thing–the stone is quality stone, and the wood is top-tier. So much is crafted by hand that there’s a very artisanal quality to everything, which hearkens back to the level of detail, and the level of thoughtfulness in each element of the home.

We wanted to keep in mind that you’re coming in off the fields. You may have spent the day on an ATV around the vineyard, so there was a sense of practicality that had to happen with a portion of the home.. How do you make it-

Functional? ... Exactly. We want everything to age gracefully and beautifully without having to worry about the materials. Some of the floors are selected based on the color of the clay soil, and it’s very red soil, so there were areas like the mudroom where you come in right off of that have a red tint to the floor so that you don’t see it.

Right. You can just come in muddy and not even worry about it, which is incredible. What was the biggest, most exciting challenge about the space? I think one of the most interesting parts of it was that the builder was a commercial builder, so the way they come about building a structure is very different. It was basically built as a commercial building, and so had engineered all of the heating

MP3: Mark, you’ve been shopping with us since the be-

ginning. If you had to pick your go to brand, which would you choose?

MAR K: I would have to go with ISAIA, although a few

others come to mind, I love the ISAIA brand, and working with Todd Fliginger of course, he could be the ambassador for the brand with all his knowledge of their collection.

MP3: What is one product that you have purchased with us that you can’t live without?

That would be the cologne Creed Aventus, it’s my statement piece. I have been hired by clients to sell their homes specifically because of this fragrance. I’m hoping it’s also because of my successful track record. Ha ha! Seriously, it’s that good.

he first five-star hotel and private residences have arrived in Minneapolis. This spring, we sat down with General Manager Florian Riedel to get an exclusive look at this new luxury oasis. With the ease of a Mediterranean lifestyle and a deep appreciation for our community, Four Seasons Hotel Minneapolis is sure to make a splash this summer.

While Four Seasons Hotel Minneapolis looks forward to welcoming guests worldwide, they’ve kept us locals close to their hearts with their programming initiatives, spa services, and dining experiences. “So many of our efforts are targeting the community–as a brand, Four Seasons is meant to bring people together. With all of the theater, sports, and outdoor activities around us, we see this as a destination even if you’re a local. Come for the weekend, explore the city, and return to the hotel at the end of your day to enjoy the spa and restaurants. “I’m particularly excited about our food and beverage offerings. Of course, we have Gavin Kaysen and his team, but beyond that, the level of design and detail in each of our dining experiences is unmatched. When combined with Four Seasons’ level of service and the host of menus developed by local experts, we’re confident that each of our dining experiences will serve as places for people to come together. I can see an espresso at Socca, power lunches at Mara during the workweek, cocktail hour outdoors at Riva Terrace, and crafted private dining experiences for big celebrations.” As we soak in another Minnesota summer, Riva Terrace is top of mind, as it is for Florian. After working for years at Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts across the world, he took an unexpected pivot. “I always had a desire to run my own business and had a huge passion for food and beverage. I briefly left Four Seasons to become a partner and sous chef of a Tuscan vineyard in the hillside village of Montalcino, Italy. While I worked in the kitchen, my wife Wendy ran the front of the house. We had a great time. About 1.5 years later Four Seasons called and asked me if I wanted to come back, and it took me all of five minutes to say yes. I wouldn’t change a thing–it’s certainly made me a better manager. “In turn, I’ve learned a lot about the Italian lifestyle–they truly have something figured out. If you’ve ever had lunch in Italy on a Sunday, it’s like life stops so you can spend time together, and you aren’t in a hurry. We’re trying to recreate that feeling

here. Using unique textures, colors, and designs, we hope that walking into Mara, Riva Terrace, or Socca will invite a sense of ease and luxuriation in the Mediterranean way. While a sunset aperitivo hour is sure to be embraced by Minnesotans year-round on the heated terrace, Florian and his team have a few surprises up their sleeves, as well. “Our team is made up of so many passionate people with fantastic ideas. We want guests to say, ‘That is incredible, it’s something I’ve never seen before.’ The moment of surprise is so important. Something unexpected, even as simple as a small offering at the right moment can make all the difference. “What makes Four Seasons Hotel Minneapolis unique is that our team collectively has a passion for being a part of something far bigger than a hotel. This will truly be one of the finest hotels in our Four Seasons portfolio. We are honored to play a part in re-energizing the Twin Cities and creating a welcoming atmosphere for all.”

Four Seasons Hotel Minneapolis opens on June 1. For dining, spa, and guest room reservations, visit www.fourseasons.com/minneapolis.
