I consider myself as a person that is dynamic, vibrant, proactive, and helpful, able to work both independently and in groups. I am responsible and accurate in carrying out the tasks entrusted to me, and I learn quickly and with great enthusiasm. I believe that the design profession has a great social responsibility, because as a product develops to resolve a certain problem, we enter the daily life of those we are responding to; striving to accomplish their needs, considering their personal pleasure with something of ours, as if we were leaving a little bit of us in the life of others. Us, as designers, we have the capability and the skills to deeply understand our present, in order to interpret the future to propose our vision of the next change.

FLOW The theme of water explicitly expresses a sensitivity to a key element of our planet and is the expression of a right to life that is yet knowledge that needs to be spread and diffused by all. This thesis was born with the objective to solve two problems: the domestic consumption of water and the possibility to know, as well as monitor and control its quality.

Water has always been considered synonymous with life. Every drop of it embodies both the mystery of our origins and the fate of our future. Though water is likely to appear the most abundant element on our planet, its supplies would scarcely spill a drop if the Earth had the size of an orange. Natural water resources are becoming increasingly scarce, both because of global climate change and human irresponsible behavior.

The answer is in the user’s inability to be informed, in a direct and timely manner, of the amount of water used. From this observation emerged certain design cues that have highlighted the need for a device that is able to report in a simple manner, constantly and effectively the user’s consumption. The device is able to interact with mobile devices thanks to an application specially designed for smartphone and tablet. To add on top of this device interaction, the design for an interface was developed, which could be installed within the household, giving the possibility to the user to interact with much ease from their kitchen or living room.

PRODUCT
The product consisted of a flow reducer or aerator. The product presents interesting characteristics including - the most important - the ability to inform the user on the amount of water that is coming out of a faucet or the shower. Using a flow sensor provided with a small display, the quantity of water in liters is shown. Inside the lower part, a light colored LED was inserted that changes color in relation to the behavior that is being adopted.

APPLICATION
The Profile section allows us to draw a perfect description by entering the personal data of an individual user and the various members of the family. The system, in reference to what has been inserted, calculates the maximum necessary water consumption allowed by the entire family in a day. Thanks to the consumption page, the user can have an idea of how much water is used and thereby enables them to reduce their consumption in a more conscious way. Depending on the user’s behavior towards the reduction of water consumption, positive or negative, credits can be acquired. The credits allow to those who are able to save water, tariff concessions to promote a better behavior regarding the use of this precious resource.

INTERFACE
APPLICATION
Based on the percentage of water that is being consumed, the main page changes color. The percentage is calculated in relation to the maximum allowed consumption, indicated in the profile section. To add on top of this device interaction, the design for an interface was developed, which could be installed within the household, giving the possibility to the user to interact with much ease from their living room.

is human perception of food consumption changing?
#whereismyfood is an awareness campaign designed to sensitize presentday society about the changes in our perception of food due to the rising trend of sharing food pictures on social media. Through an extreme vision of the unexpected consequences of virtual food sharing, the campaign aims to open a platform of discussion on the future of food sharing. TRADITIONAL

The Instagram plug-in is able to detect the pixels of a food picture and remove it from the surrounding environment. Subsequently, the words “Where is my food” appear on the plate with a “Tell me” link directing the curious user to an animation video.

RESEARCH
Children are considered to be the best customer base of museums because of their curiosity and their parents’ desire for their children to learn. Considering that children are a recurring audience of the Cycladic Museum of Art, the shop wants to expand their children’s collection. In addition, the shop wants to add products made with fabric. Therefore, we decided to design a pencil case inspired by the Cycladic figurines. HIDE This project was created through research and analysis done during the course, research which generated the design idea of how to simply actions and how to render an object dynamic and prone to transformations. The design focus was that of creating a kitchen that could be placed in modern homes, homes destined to a constant change in terms of dimensions and space availability.

PRODUCT
The kitchen communicates with the person in different situations: in dangerous situations (red), or to inform (blue). This large value of the light, in addition to being a functional value also becomes an aesthetic value. The design focus was that of transforming the kitchen into a piece of furniture, of small size, while considering the increase in functions and the enhancement of its use. The design of this product makes it capable of furnishing non-conventional environments.

The logic of the project was to make essential its forms and compress its shape on the axis of depth, a reduction that brings no problems in view of space thanks to the creation of a sliding top that allows you to retrieve the space taken away from the reduction of the kitchen worktop.

BUD•E Using Internet of things [IoT], imagine a service that allows using data collected from the enviornment to create smart connected workspaces. Since we were placed on the actual context of connect habitats, inside the framework of IoT and smart objects, we focused our ideas in what data we could collect and what will be the best use for it. By going deep on the new trends on more sustainable and eco-friendly spaces and workplaces, BUD¡E was born. role

The service is based on a platform that gathers information by monitoring the workspace (energy consumption and indoors air and temperature conditions) and monitoring the plants (moisture, sunlight).
COMMUNITY
The plants will communicate directly to their owner, asking for water or sunlight, to make it more interactive for the user.

It will create a community inside the worspace, where everybody will colaborate while competing with other companies to become the “GREENEST” office. It will improve the company’s image in clients minds, since they participate, and maybe even win, a competition based on environmental sustainability.
