HOTELS AND PRIVATE MEMBERS’ CLUBS Hotels and private members’ clubs have become less standardised and more localised over the years. At the same time, the terms luxury and quality have become intertwined with lifestyle and experience. When designing a hotel or a club, we always consider this dichotomy; in how to create an interior that harnesses the character of the building, the history of the location and the traditions of the neighbourhood. We also consider how the design
embodies a lifestyle, in the way guests use the space when eating, drinking, sleeping and working within the interior. At Martin Brudnizki Design Studio we understand how important it is to create that home away from home, providing a sanctuary from the hustle and bustle of daily life with an interior that comforts through histories’ familiar hand, but is also built for the modern world.

SOHO BEACH HOUSE MIAMI Described as the place where “grit meets glamour, hotel meets private club,” Soho Beach House is located on Collins Avenue in Miami. Nick Jones requested Martin Brudnizki Design Studio to work with him on this 80,000 square foot hotel and private members’ club with over 40 bedrooms, three rooftop suites, two large pools, beach cabanas, screening room, a
Cecconi’s restaurant and an expansive Cowshed Spa. Inspired by Cuba and Latin America, the ocean-front hotel, originally built in 1941, utilises salvaged timber from Wyoming, encaustic floor tiles from a church in Spain, vintage barber chairs from upstate New York and many other reclaimed fixtures throughout the space.

ANNABEL’S LONDON Annabel’s private members’ club is housed in a Grade-I Listed Georgian Townhouse in London’s Berkeley Square. The Studio’s reinvention drew inspiration from the spirit of English eccentricity, heavily influenced by flora and fauna, which is utilised throughout the spaces in an eclectic and playful manner. Spread across four floors, the ground-floor restaurant, bar and terrace, inspired by the quintessential English garden, features custom rose and trellis murals with topiary scenes from Levens Hall in Cumbria. The
adjoining Garden Terrace, with fully retractable roof, translates the ambience of an orangery, once the norm in grand Georgian properties. On the first floor, the Elephant Room and Bar is highlighted with bespoke gold-leaf wall coverings by French wallpaper couturiers de Gournay, whilst the second floor Mexican-themed Bar with its sealed copper-leaf ceiling and offset leather armchairs, provides a stylish all-day retreat. Elsewhere, the club is dotted with two private dining rooms, a Humidor and Rooftop terrace.
