Message from the Deacon Ministry To: Pastor James Henry Alexander and First Lady Amanda Alexander From: The Desk of the Deacons Ministry: "Wherefore, brethren, look ye out among you seven men of honest report, full of the Holy Ghost and wisdom, whom we may appoint over this business" Acts 6:3. The Deacon's Ministry and the Zion Hill Church extend our most sincere congratulations to Rev. James Henry Alexander and Mrs. Amanda Alexander on the occasion of your installation. Sunday October 25, 2015 will be a day of jubilation as you transition from Pastor Elect to Pastor and First Lady of Zion Hill Baptist Church. The Diaconate has striven to keep the church together during the many months we were without a covering. And now, we look forward to you feeding and caring for the sheep. Romans 10 says, "....How shall they hear without a preacher? And how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things...So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God" Romans 10:14b,15, 17 KJV. We in the Diaconate or Deacons Ministry recognize our role as both helpers to you and to the church in the feeding and caring for God's people. We look to you for guidance and directions in growing this ministry and God's people to be all that God would have us to be. Again, we, along with the members, both welcome and congratulate you-Rev. and Mrs. Alexander- on being installed as Pastor and First Lady. We pray for you and us to become the servant leaders spoken of by the prophet Micah. He wrote in Chapter 6 and verse 8, "He hath shewed thee, O man, what is good: and what doth the Lord require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God?" Let us continue to love and grow together!!!. Humbly Submitted,

Deacon Roscoe Davis, Chairman

Message from the Installation Commitee To The Zion Hill Family, I salute you on behalf of the Installation Committee. God pledges if we concentrate on blessing others, He will “open up the windows of heaven, pour out blessings that we are yet to receive” and we stand TODAY, as a testament to His “Jehovah Jireh” promise. We honor God for adding to our family a Pastor who is a visionary, provocative thinker, charismatic leader, and exemplary teacher of God’s word. We are grateful for a leader who encourages us to embrace all that God has given us through His Son, Jesus Christ. Zion Hill, our mission is clearworship, discipleship, relationship, stewardship, and fellowship. I am grateful and thankful for each of your contributions beginning with the planning and preparatory stages of our work, advancing to our three-day pastoral revival services, and culminating on this our glorious day of celebration in the Lord! From the program committee, to the beautification committee, to the correspondence committee, to the finance committee, to the culinary committee, to the media committee, to the Zion Hill Church family, and to all our neighbors in the ministry who reached out with helping hands, we thank you from the bottom of our hearts! We would like to especially thank Rev. K.L. Curtis, Rev. Mario Stephens, Minister LaShun Pace, Trey McLaughlin and Sounds of Zamar, Rev. Corey Holmes, and Rev. Tamarkus Cook. Most importantly, we thank God for His abiding presence knowing that without Him we can do nothing. Thank you Lord for the unified strength, inspiration, intellect, will power, and motivation that enabled us to successfully witness the fruit of our labor and for this we offer up to you, a sacrifice of praise! As we move forward- becoming and overcoming, our loyalty must rest with Jesus Christ. He has commanded us to go, and that means everywhere- into the highways and hedges and compel others to come in. The harvest is bountiful, more laborers are needed; we must pool our resources for God’s glory. Let us RISE UP and commit ourselves to the service of the Almighty as we accept the challenge to move within the vision that God has given to Pastor and First Lady Alexander for kingdom building. Zion Hill, let us continue to grow and emulate the tried and true model found in our Savior, Jesus Christ who said, “If I be lifted up from the earth, I’ll draw all men unto me”. Yours in Christ, The Pastoral Installation Committee

About Our Guest Pastor Pastor Mario D. Stephens Rev. Mario D. Stephens is a native of Atlanta, GA. At an early age, his mother Ms. Sheila Stephens recognized something different, something special in her only son. Rev. Mario, as he is affectionately known, displayed a love for academic pursuits, as well as love for God and Church early in his life. After confessing Jesus Christ as Lord before his home church One Accord Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. E.A. Stephens Jr., Rev. Mario was on his way to leading a life dedicated to God. After hearing the voice of God early in His life, it was on the campus of Morehouse College in his freshman dorm that Rev. Mario finally told God “Yes.” That same year, on December 7, 2007, Rev. Mario Stephens was licensed to preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Now licensed to preach, Rev. Mario Stephens worked with his pastor to hone his skills in the areas of youth ministry and outreach. These skills continue to shape his interaction with church and community. Rev. Mario Stephens is a 2011 honor graduate of the prestigious Morehouse College in Atlanta, Georgia. Following his graduation from Morehouse, Rev. Mario enrolled in the Candler School of Theology at Emory University where he graduated with his Master of Divinity in 2014. Mario Stephens was installed as Senior Pastor of New Generation Baptist Church on January 5, 2014. Under the leadership of Rev. Mario, New Generation has experienced a revival in worship, community outreach, and evangelism. A known “hugger,” Rev. James and Amanda, This has been my advice to you James all your life and now I am passing it on to you and Amanda; Joshua 1: 7 – 9 Only be thou strong and very courageous, that thou mayest observe to do according to all the law, which Moses my servant commanded thee: turn not from it to the right hand or to the left, that thou mayest prosper whithersoever thou goest. This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success. Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the Lord thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest. Proverbs 3: 5-6 Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths. Thank you God for embracing our family and giving us limitless favor and bountiful blessings.

Congratulations James & Amanda Love, Mom & Dad Jesse & Adrienne Chris & Jessica

Behold, I have given him for a witness to the people, a leader and commander for the people. Isaiah 55:4 To our new Pastor and First Lady Feeling so grateful that he called you…a faithful heart, a joyful spirit, a wonderful expression of God’s light.

Zion Hill Combined Choirs

Best Wishes to Rev. and Mrs. James H. Alexander I charge thee therefore before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, who shall judge the quick and the dead at his appearing and his kingdom; Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all long suffering and doctrine. For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; and they shall turn away from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables. But watch thou in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelists, make full proof of ministry. - 2 Timothy 4:1-5

Acknowledgements Words of gratitude oftentimes can feel insufficient, particularly after experiencing such an overwhelming and spirit – filled celebration. Nevertheless, I feel compelled to simply share my sentiments of thanksgiving for all those who participated in this celebration. My arrival in June to Newnan was not by happenstance or by random occurrence; rather by the grace of God my wife and I have been able to continue yet another leg of this journey called life. It is impossible for us to acknowledge everyone who has had an impact upon this day by name. The truth of the matter is there is evidence of the fervent, effectual prayers of the righteous that have saturated this moment even prior to conception. Yet, here is our attempt to simply say “Thank You.” To my Family: it was through you, that I learned about God, and God’s love made manifest through family love. Thank you for being supportive, challenging when necessary, and for giving me the room to be myself. To the Calvary Baptist Church of Morristown, NJ: Thank you for the wonderful privilege of nurturing my gifts, and preparing me for the call you recognized on my life prior to me accepting it. Thank you for continuing to be present and supportive. To the Mount Moriah Baptist Church of Atlanta, GA: Thank you for being my training ground, for permitting me the space to operate in the Spirit, and for affirming my gifts through licensing and ordination. To the Cornerstone Missionary Baptist Church of Greenville, NC: Thank you for entrusting me to lead the church through a season of transition, and for pouring into my growth and pastoral development. To the Mount Gethsemane Missionary Baptist Church of Bethel, NC: Thank you for being available to a move of God, and for the fresh reminder of worship, pure and simple. To Morehouse College: For placing the crown within reach for me to grasp, and exposing me to a higher level of consciousness. To Candler School of Theology at Emory University: For pushing me to think critically. To the undershepherds recorded in the historical annals of the Zion Hill Baptist Church: For establishing a legacy upon which I have been called to continue, I acknowledge you by name: H.R. Bennett, J.C. Adams, I.A. Coppage, J.A. Wimberly, M.T. Lassiter, J.J. Kilpatrick, H. H. Anderson, W.J. Richardson, R.L. McKibbens, H.J. Long, W. J. Johnson. To My Pastors / Professors: I am privileged to have experienced “a more excellent way” of merging the ecclesial, intellectual and prophetic through observation, discussion and participation. For pouring into me, and helping me to find my own authentic voice, I acknowledge you by name: Dr. Gary V. Simpson, Dr. Jerry M. Carter, Jr., Dr. Orlando K. Winters, Sr., Rev. Sidney Locks, Dr. Martin Morman, Dr. Teresa Fry Brown, Dr. Noel Erskine
