CREATOR THE
Hi. I am Martin Eriksson, a 28 year old post wannabe illustrator who discovered industrial design as a more suitable way of working. As a second year bachelor student I have learned to appreciate working in three dimensions and to use design methods to gain a professional approach on design. All I want to do is to learn more and work myself into a sharper professional designer.

THE GAME CONTROLLER A Rhino & Keyshot project
Inspiration In this project I simply went back to my gaming roots looking at the “Nintendo entertainment system” and “Sega mega drive” controllers. But I also wanted a more grownup feeling to it so I incorporated the sturdy analogue feeling of my Canon camera.
&
Developement To keep the slender profiles of the Nintendo and Sega controllers but still get a comfortable volume for holding it, I worked out a hollow handle that gave the controller a strong identity.
THE
Result With the Nintendo´s color scheme, Canon´s sturdiness and Sega´s shapes worked in to my tests and sketches, a new creation emerged. With touch sensitive buttons, slick joysticks and mechanical rockers.

HAIRDRYER Learning how to build a model...
A course in Sketching technique Modelbuilding Designmethods
Approach
I chose teens as my target group, I wanted to make a fitting product with a lot of attitude for active youngsters. It all started with some fieldwork interwiews and market research...
Requirements “Selected”
•360 Degree grip •Travel friendly •Durable •Easy mentainence
Developement
Sketching on paper and in clay I started working out a model that fitted the requirements
Result
After a lot of ideas and tests I came up with a handle that works any way you like to hold it. As a whole figure it ended up as a snub robust piece of equipment with rubberized sides”for high friction”, removable intake cover “for easy cleaning” and coolerbutton “for fixating your hairdue”.
Removable intake cover
Rubberized rims
Cool air button
Ergonomic grip in 360 degrees
ON/OFF button
This is just a suggestion on how to use the product...

A course in
Creative thinking and problemsolving Project description
idea generating
Make a conceptual solution for persons with walking disabilities to get access to nature.
The class got one hour to produce as much ideas possible, afterwards we divided all ideas into three groups, Solutions with legs, with wheels and airbourne.
Our solution
Special orientation for our group”Airbourne”
“Think twenty years into the future and make a no ground contact solution”. All work was evenly devided in the group, “I had a extra responsability for sketching”.
Criteria“Selection”
Functions
Market analysis
•Easy access to nature •Easy use •Low maintenence •Enviromentally friendly •Design for all
•Electric engines •Gyroscopic manouvering •Induction charging •Rotor lift •gps guidence •Slick hull to avoid getting stuck in terrain
We looked for different existing and soon existing technologies to get a grip on how to approach this assignment.
Ideation phase
Developement With some interesting technologies in thought we started our work. With some tight teamwork and loads of evaluation the craft started taking shape.
Result
In the end we came up with a howercraft propelled by three rotor engines with blade on blade technology for easy manouvering. Steering is done by positioning bodyweight in the seat or with a joystick. And to give the user a feel of walking while on the craft we used a saddlelike solution for sitting with gel cushioning for the back and neck. For users with low upperbody stability there is belts at chest and waist. This is complemented by a telescopic legrest for optimal comfort.
User Thanks to its ability to hover it easily goes through all kind of terrain. The three engines makes it easy to keep the balance and it enables you to get down near the ground to pick up berries or chantarelles. With some add on parts for photograping and fishing the user can get a full outback experience.
