PCHD file is the hard disk image file type of PC Disk Tools products. Each PCHD file has a couple of PCPT files which are images of Partition images of that disk. Since it’s the image of disk, it contains all data of the disk. And compared with storing data in disk, the disk image would be more easily to manage and transfer. If we want to restore the same image to plenty of computers, we won’t think about to clone the image to the other PCs one by one any more in this cyber age. So the most timesaving and effective way is to propagate the source disk image to target client disk remotely at the same time. PC Network Clone could deploy disk image from a server to unlimited number of PC clients simultaneously with high speed. And it is designed mainly for large scale system installation or universal hard drive propagation. Before we enjoy the powerful features of PC Network Clone, we should do the following preparation jobs: 1. Configure the windows firewall both on server PC and client PCs. Step 1 Run PC Network Clone and click the button “Disk Deployment and PCHD Deployment�. You can read the details about the function while you move the mouse near the button area.
Step 2 The selection buttons just below the disk list are selection of source, by default, you use disk as source, we need to select the “PCHD File� and find the image files in local disk. If you want to know more about how to propagate disk over network, please click here.
Step 3 Choose the disk image (*.PCHD) which you want to propagate.
Step 4 Choose the destination disk of the client PC and click “Next”.
Step 5 When we select the disk of client as the destination disk, the destination disk couldn’t contain any partition in it. If we haven’t removed all partitions of the destination disk on the preparation job,
PC Network Clone will ask for deleting the partitions before cloning.
Step 6 PC Network Clone will suggest you to restart the search after delete all the partitions on the destination disks. To know more about how to remove the partitions please click here. Redo all the preparing work after removing all the partitions on destination clients. After all clients are detected, choose each individual client from the “Clients” list. At the same time, the list on the right will display all the contained hard drives within that remote client PC. Select the disk for each client as the clone target. Notice that the destination cannot contain any partition as we discussed in the beginning, otherwise PC Network Clone will prompt an error asking partition deletion. Click “Next” to start your disk deployment.
With all the steps above are done, we just need to wait PC Network Clone to propagate the source disk image to hundreds of clients automatically. And we are free to do anything as we like during this time.
