CONVERSION OF A FORMER INDUSTRIAL SITE
TUBIZE - BELGIUM
Academic project - 2008 University of Louvain-la-Neuve, Belgium
Final project of my Master’s degree: to elaborate a urban plan for a large disused industrial site along an important canal south of Brussels. For that project I worked in a group with two other students. The project was based on an intensive and broad study of the surrounding landscape, the urban environment and the complex problematic of the preservation and the rehabilitation of the industrial buildings and structures The intentions of the urban plan produced were to open the site to a large public, to bring back diversified activities on it (housing, economic and industrial activity, commercial activity, public infrastructures ‌) and to preserve some existing structures and a part of the industrial heritage. Rehabilitation and occupation of such out-of-scale structures and spaces were importants challenges of that project.
