We celebrated anniversaries In 2023, we marked 400 years since the death of English composer William Byrd with a five-day music festival in Lincoln and a Choral Day in London. Acclaimed vocal ensemble The Tallis Scholars, with whom we have collaborated on many occasions, celebrated their 50th anniversary this year. Our festival – The Thomas Tallis Trail – was designed to celebrate this, with performances by the group in the places where their namesake composer lived and worked. We examined the life and works of Sir Christopher Wren, in the tercentenary of the great architect’s death. Our programme included a five-day tour, a series of online talks, and a number of London Day departures. Pablo Picasso died 50 years ago this year, and our tour ‘Celebrating Picasso’ attended special exhibitions in Málaga, Madrid, Barcelona and Paris.
