As a first attempt to link academic aspirations with real life affairs the University of Tecnológico de Monterrey Campus Querétaro decided to create a contest that would invest with scarce resources in a residual urban space. My team was fortunate to win the first contest developed by the university and build the project.

strategy LEVELS OF INTERVENTION To intervene in both solving the general problem of maintenance in the whole public space and creating a significant programmatic solution we needed to strategically perform levels of intervention.
INTENSE LEVEL Specific locations where programmatic solutions are needed.
MEDIUM LEVEL Pedestrian paths are constructed using tezontle and rocks.
SUPERFICIAL LEVEL The urban space is cleaned.

Industrial architecture has the highest potentials of involvement as a young architect, that is why my ďŹ rst professional involvement was through the industry. Then of various interventions I was fortunate to participate with Adelca. Adelca (Ecuadorian Steel Work Company) was developing a major industrial complex in the coast of Ecuador. I was trusted with the design of various employee buildings and got involved in the major plan of the complex. This project was highly ambitious in promoting bicycle circulations for employees and low use of air-conditioning.

learning from informality Climate comfort is a key element in Latin American coastal cities which is highly understood in informal architecture. There is a symbiotic relation between buildings and city generated in sidewalks. This works regardless of building function and aesthetic style. This initial observation was key in creating buildings that respond to its climate. .

Exploring the city of Guanajuato became the ďŹ rst priority to recognize its major needs and potentials. Then of exploring its historical vocations, and current necessities it was evident that a health vocation was necessary especially in suburban Guanajuato. This Health Center aims to satisfy a need that was found impoverished both in Guanajuato and its surroundings.

guanajuato’s historical vocation Guanajuato has been able to evolve throughout its history reinventing its identity and maintaining a convenient urbanity. However the future is threatened by lack of planning. miner guanajuato

furniture design Fortunate to work with craftsman Edelberto Gualotuña we developed some furniture for residential projects.
intelligent foundation Cost calculation in industrial construction may be repetitive, specially when working with foundations. This is why a generative component may be helpful to calculate budgets more efficiently. This is one example of some coding tools that applied to building management may result handy. Imput

exploring simple structures A structure that assembles 3 circular perimeters. Only by changing the angle that joins the three circles the structure can change form from planar to spherical with all the variations in between this two shapes. This structure can be used in various scenarios from furniture building to instant shelter.
imagining a facade In a distant future synthetic biology could have a great impact in how we obtain and use energy and materials. This project, inspired on Oshamu Nimomura’s florescent protein discovery, tries to create a facade that contains life for its florescent properties.
