Why do you need Crab Locker? When driving off road on some uneven terrains (such as: snow, sand, muddy, rocky), at some point will cause either a front or rear wheel to lift of the ground or just loose traction. When that happens the power will always take the path of least resistance, and the power will be transferred to one wheel, another wheel with no power to drive out of the situation. There are two ways to solve this problem. One is momentum, this will get you through in most cases. But this requires continuous movement, and will damage the vehicle. The other way to is to install a TRE Crab Locker.
How does TRE Crab Locker work?
How does Crab Locker work? The Crab Locker operation is simple and straight forward. Compressed air goes into the selector ring, then air will pus h the push ring, push ring push 4 pins to engage the locking ring to lock the side gear, now the Crab Locker is locked and will deliver equal 100% traction to both axles. Both axle shafts have the same maximum traction, which can get the vehicle out of trouble. Turn off the switch to disengage the Crab Locker, the Compressed air release from the solenoid exhaust hole into the oil return line.The lock ring will be pushed by the springs to its original position, Crab Locker returns to its open differential function. (The Crab Locker eq uipped with oil-return system, which protects your air compr essor and prevents oil leakage, solving a major defect of the air locker on the market.)
