CONGRATULATIONS! Congratulations on your engagement and this wonderfully exciting time in your life as you plan your wedding! I am so honored and grateful for your time and consideration! I’m truly blessed to do what I love, and look forward to getting to know you and that person you’ve decided you couldn’t live without. Long after your wedding day is over, your photographs will continue to retell the story of your day. I want to do that story justice and to artfully document your memories as they are being made on one of the most special days in your life. Whether the wedding is small and intimate, large and extravagant, close to home, or at some far away destination, my goal is member to relive their precious memories through the photographs that I take. These treasured moments only happen once and should be beautifully documented to be remembered and cherished forever. I hope this guide is helpful to you in your planning process, and gives you some insight into who I am as a photographer and the images I like to create! I look forward to our paths hopefully crossing in the near future!

HI, I’M MARY!
And I’m a smile-loving adventurous soul, a messy perfectionist, big dreamer, and gogetter. For me photography is a way to focus on what is good and to cherish some of life’s happiest moments. The best days are the ones that I get to document life as it happens, creating images that reflect real life in a genuine and uncontrived way. I believe that the life God gave each of us is precious, wonderful, and oh-so-fleeting! So I say lets grab a hold of it, live intentionally and adventurously, and ensure we remember those special moments along the way.
Home for me is a small town west of Baltimore, but I love to travel and do so often! The majority of my clientele is often in the Baltimore/Washington D.C. area, but I’ve photographed all over the US. Being photographed is not always the most comfortable experience for everyone. It is often hard to “act natural” when being put on the spot! As a result, I strive to create an environment that is fun and comfortable for all of my clients. My hope and goal is that they are able to forget about the camera and truly live in the moment. I have the amazing privilege of photographing some of my client’s happiest memories and that’s an honor that I don’t take lightly! The absolute best scenario is when I’m ignored as a photographer and acknowledged as a friend, allowing genuine personalities the chance to shine.

Meaning that coverage would generally begin 2 hours (not 3) before your ceremony, and that extra hour for bridal portraits and bridal party photos would be allocated between the end of your ceremony and beginning of your reception.

ENGAGEMENTS
EN G AG EM ENT S ESSIO N S Engagement sessions are simply an opportunity to hang out and spend some time together, a chance for you both to get to know me and for me get to know you before your big day! On your wedding day, if and when you notice me photographing, I want you to think “oh that’s just my friend Mary” not “some stranger I hired to take pictures.” Having an engagement session is a trial run for your big day, an opportunity for you to give me feedback on your preferences, and get a feel for how I work so you know what to expect ahead of time. The best engagement sessions are when a couple simply allows me to hang out with them and tag along for one of their dates. It’s my belief that engagement sessions should be fun, relaxed, and not at all feel awkward or cheesy! Engagement sessions are also a fun opportunity to get some “everyday” photos of the two of you, whether you would like to use the images on your Save the Date cards, or to frame in your home, it’s nice to have professional photographs that capture your everyday love.

FAQS
How may images can we expect to receive from our wedding day? On average, you can expect between 50-75 images per hour of photography coverage. Can we print the photos however we’d like? Absolutely! Your thumb drive will come with a full print release, meaning that you can print the photos however you’d like from any photo lab you choose. The digital files you receive on your thumb drive are sized to make prints up to size 8x10. Do I own the copyright of the photos you take? “Copyright” is one of those confusing terms so let me explain! As the photographer I retain the copyright (ownership) of all of your wedding images; however, the print release you receive is your license to print the images however you’d like. What this means is that you would need my permission before altering the images in anyway, selling them, or entering them into any contest. If you have any questions, please feel free to just ask! What about social media? Can I post and share the images you take? 100% yes! I would love if you shared your wedding photos with your friends and family on the various social media platforms. Crediting the photos with our URL (www.marybrunst.com) is always appreciated! Do you offer payment plans? Yes! After the initial deposit to reserve your date, I am more than happy to work out a payment plan with you. The balance of the total photography fee is due 7 days prior to the wedding date, and as long as we are paid in full at that time there are no restrictions. How soon can we see our photos after our wedding day? I take a lot of pride in the editing process, so it is a bit time consuming— but you can expect to have all of your fully edited photos delivered to you, on average, 6 to 8 weeks following your wedding date.
Do you have back up equipment? Also do you have liability insurance? Yes, yes, and yes! From our cameras, flashes, batteries, to memory cards absolutely every piece of equipment is backed up at all times. We also have complete liability insurance, covering myself, your guests, your venue, and my equipment.
Why don’t you accept shot lists? To put it simply, shot list take away from telling the genuine story of your day. There is no need to worry about me taking the standard wedding day photos like the first kiss, walking down the aisle, etc. because I’ll be there with you capturing every moment! I do however ask all of my couples for a list of “must have” immediate family and extended family photos! We don’t want to miss any of those important posed images with your family.
How would you describe your style? The one word that describes my photography style most accurately would be “relaxed”. I like to be in the moment and capture memories as they happen. As a photographer though, I know that every now and then guidance is needed and these are the moments that I step in and make even the posed photos look and feel as natural and comfortable as possible. Should I have a first look? This decision is 100% up to you and your fiancé! There are pros and cons of both having a first look and not having one. Weigh out these pros and cons and make the decision that is best for the two of you – not anyone else. Whatever you decide is absolutely okay with me. It’s not my day, it’s yours. My number one goal is to photograph your wedding day with grace, respect, and great joy, and it makes no difference to me whether you see each other before your ceremony or not. I strive to provide you with amazing images documenting your day regardless of how it unfolds.
