A GameChanging Executive MBA At The University of Tennessee, we know that companies with a world-class supply chain achieve significant competitive advantages in today’s global economy. At the core of our top-ranked supply chain program is a deep appreciation of this sometimes overlooked, yet powerful tool. That’s just one of the reasons our supply chain and logistics graduate programs keep rising in national rankings—No. 5 among top-tier public institutions in U.S. News & World Report’s 2012 evaluation. Our forward-thinking faculty work closely with industry and understand industry’s need for an MBA that will take high-performing supply chain professionals to the next level. In response, The University of Tennessee has designed a truly unique program: the Global Supply Chain Executive MBA. Offered in collaboration with three other top-ranked international institutions, this one-of-a kind program breaks the mold of traditional executive MBAs. Our global faculty deliver a curriculum that’s rigorous, experiential, and practical. It takes place on campuses on three continents—North America, Europe, and Asia—and requires only eight weeks out of your office. The Global Supply Chain EMBA is accepting applications. Join us.
Take your career to the next level and unleash the power of your supply chain.
Working with world-class academic partners in key global markets—Western Europe, Central/ Eastern Europe, Asia, and Latin America—we’ve created an accelerated 12-month course of study, uniquely designed to provide supply chain expertise in a global environment. Students in this pioneering business program won’t just think outside the box—they’ll live outside it, by taking classes and connecting with peers and mentors on campuses in Paris, France; Singapore; Budapest, Hungary; and the United States. It’s the only executive MBA focused on supply chains to offer such substantial international classroom and networking opportunities.
“There really is no such thing as a purely North American supply chain anymore. UT’s global supply chain programs are a tremendous opportunity for companies to be engaged in dialogue on issues that span borders across the world.” — Dave Clark, Vice President of North American Operations, Amazon.com, UT graduate, and member of UT’s Supply Chain Forum
Full Immersion The Global Supply Chain EMBA immerses students in the economic, political, and cultural realities of major world markets. You’ll benefit from a world-class international faculty and expert speakers on geopolitical and business topics, but you won’t just sit in classrooms. One of the hallmarks of our unique curriculum is supply chain–focused experiential learning in each global region. This offers you unprecedented opportunities to witness firsthand how the global supply chain concepts you’re learning are applied in different world markets—and to gain direct exposure to each region’s key supply chain challenges. During each on-campus period, you will đ Directly engage with corporations and governments through field visits đ Learn the cultural nuances and social, political, and business realities of key world regions and đ Receive coaching on conducting business overseas from international experts.
Transnational Leadership Responding to the complexity of the worldwide, multicultural business environment and its demands on corporate leaders, the Global Supply Chain EMBA includes a novel leadership-development program to help executives hone the skills and develop the vision necessary to succeed in a global environment. The Transnational Leadership Program is woven into this global EMBA, and each of its four on-campus periods includes curricula specifically geared toward transnational leadership: đ The Transnational Business Context đ Business and Public Policy; Ethical Leaders and Responsible Business đ Transnational Negotiation đ Transnational Strategy. You will explore ethical, sociological, environmental, political, and regulatory issues, which vary significantly by industry, trading organization, culture, country, and region. Along the way, you’ll be challenged to think beyond the confines of your organization and your existing functional knowledge.
Return on Investment Companies that make the commitment to enroll their high-potential talent in the Global Supply Chain EMBA will see a significant return on their investment. Many executive MBA programs require graduates to leave with an action plan to apply the business concepts they’ve learned once they return to work. Our Global Supply Chain EMBA focuses on immediate relevancy. From day one, you will work closely with faculty to develop a Corporate Action Project (CAP) and play a key role in its development, analysis, and implementation within your organization while you earn your degree. Successful completion represents a major step outside your current knowledge and comfort zones. The CAP has two objectives: significant return on investment for your employer and accelerated professional growth, development, and career opportunity for you where it matters most—your corporate offices. We estimate that executing this project within your sponsoring corporation will create a minimum return of $1 million USD within one to three years.

As a student in our Global Supply Chain EMBA program, you will immediately become part of an international network of supply chain executives and leading scholars. In 2011, UT created the GLOBAL
SUPPLY CHAIN INSTITUTE, a center of expertise that coordinates our broad spectrum of supply chain offerings and fulfills industry’s need for global supply chain information and best practices. www.globalsupplychaininstitute.utk.edu The Institute draws on its advisory board of 40 vice presidents of supply chain of major multinational corporations such as Amazon, Dell, Disney, Johnson & Johnson, and Procter & Gamble. For decades, UT’s scholarship has emphasized solving real-world business problems, and our board members help ensure we stay on the leading edge. Our deep collaboration with industry is also exemplified by our highly successful GLOBAL SUPPLY CHAIN FORUMS, which meet in locations around the world, including North America, Latin America, Western Europe, Central/Eastern Europe, and Asia. www.forums.utk.edu These forums bring together international corporate leaders, scholars, and students to share ideas about the latest supply chain issues. About 150 vice presidents, directors, and managers from approximately 50 top corporations take part, networking with colleagues, learning about key companies’ supply chain strategies, and arming themselves with practical ideas. (See logos of participants at right.) Once you enter the Global Supply Chain EMBA, you receive a free pass to take part in any or all of UT’s forums for an entire year, gaining networking opportunities that will open doors to worldwide professional connections that can change the course of your career. You will also tap into the corporate, educational, and
